The thing about WOTC was that it lacked the mythical/post apocalyptic feel of the first four novels. The fourth book remains my favorite, but it and WOTC shared a lot of Western conventions, the latter being moreso. I liked WOTC, but I guess it's naturally since I loved Wizard and Glass so much...

I think it can be done. And there's no other beginning better than "The man in black fled across the desert. And the gunslinger followed." Can you just imagine the previews for that?

I loved book Wizard and Glass. And as active of an imagination that I have, Susan Delgado was a pretty hot girl. Book IV almost made me cry because it was so sad. Jake, almost ten years younger, could. He got up, went to Roland, knelt beside him, put his arms around the gunslinger's neck...
