I certainly agree with you on this point! The most egregious examples of this are the three HOBBIT films. What a way to compromise the legacy he'd created with LOTR!

I saw this on a big screen in '76 and thought it was largely deplorable. I like Rick Baker a lot, but that this film won an Oscar for effects seemed to me akin to sacrilege.
