It is true that the Criterion is cropped, so no issue in pointing it out. But, to keep the cropping from scaring anyone away, I thought it wise to point out that it isn't a big deal, especially when the Criterion transfers are so much better than those on the BFI's releases.

The cropping isn't a big deal and most likely is a result of the transfers being created from different sources. The transfer on the BFI releases were done in Italy and, I assume, Criterion's were created using elements from MGM. (Someone with this release can look in the booklet's "About the...
