Did y'all see the new Echo lineup that was announced recently? I'm trying to decide what I think. The Spot looks interesting and the upgraded sound on the Echo and the improvement of the Echo Plus could be nice, but I don't really have room for or need another one since I bought Dots.

Thanks. So far, so good. Experimenting with Routines, HomeKit, and IFTTT receipes trying to figure out the best ways to get them doing what I want. It didn't take me long to want to add to the system. Went out an bought another white/color bulb, a two pack of white ambience floods and a Bloom...

Hey, now... It's been a bit of a slog for the Wings and your Habs are rolling. So, I got a Philips Hue starter kit for Christmas. Now to get it working with Alexa and my Harmony remote.

Scott, Here is a picture of the top of the speaker. There is an amber light on the power button and a blue light on the play button that indicates a connection. They stay on pretty much all the time the way I'm using it, but they are so small and seem to shine pretty much straight up. Hope...

I've been really tempted by the Echo at $140, but I haven't been able to justify it to the wife or myself. The Dot on the other hand...and paired with the Anker Premium Stereo speaker (the 20 watt one) it handles all the functions of the Echo for a lot less. Works well in our bedroom. Amazon...

Nice. The original TP-Link works well, but it is too big.

So, I setup my Dot and the TP Link. There's something inherently cool about using your voice to turn on a lamp. Seems silly, I know, but it may be worth it for that alone. The Dot is easy to setup and the TP Link plug isn't hard per se, but if you misenter your WiFi password, it doesn't simply...

Really? Good for you. It seems to have gone back up---at least on the app which now opens by default when I click on links. I didn't really want the app taking over, but oh well. RE: Philips Hue I definitely plan on adding them I've wanted them for some time, but haven't yet pulled the...

Ron, you've been bad for my wallet, but good for my Christmas shopping. I ordered three Dots+TP Link plugs after reading your posts. I also ended up with an Anker speaker. I missed out on the one you posted for $27, but I got the Anker Premium for $39 today in a flash sale.

Thanks for the info, Ron. I'd also like to use it with my Nest so that's a bummer. I guess I'll start with the find my phone.

So how do I use IFTTT recipes to do things with Echo? Is there an introduction to this anywhere?

Ok. That sounds good. The kitchen is where I was thinking about placing it too. Looking forward to your review.

Thanks for the detail. So do you have it in your home theater? I've looked at the Hue lights and love the idea of them, but they're not in the budget at the moment and I don't currently have space for dedicated home theater room. Fortunately, my wife is pretty accommodating and has let me design...

Are people still enjoying this? They are offering them to some Audible members for $100. Worth it?
