To be fair, I never doubted.
My contribution (or detriment, if you will) to this thread, was people's insistence that a quick clarification was necessary. <_<
(and I'm not back-pedaling - I still think nothing would have changed if we hadn't gotten a clarification)
Although I am over the moon about what they did, I was expecting Mando to go into the hallway with the dark-saber. Given his skills, and the weapon's supposed power, he could have taken out most, if not all the opponents.
But don't they generate more conversations by leaving things open?

To be fair, he had never seen (or even heard of) a 'force shield', and probably had no way of determining if he could will his way through (he almost did on a later attempt).
