While I realized that Universal and Parmount would not just be able crank out Blu-ray's at a drop of a hat. But this is starting to get rediculous and it makes me wonder what the heck both Universal and Paramount are doing? I have not seen one bit of news about what titles we can even exspect to...

IMHO Blu-ray is doing extremely well considering that the economy is on the verge of depression. There are plenty of good titles coming out and I remain upbeat about the possible releases from both Paramount and Universal. We should also see some strong releases in 2009 along with some really...

I know this is a bit off topic but, one of my coworkers recently left Cox and he has one of the new cable boxes that are not yet available. I guess that Cox here in Phoenix will be offering 1080p cable boxes! I have no reason to not belive my co-worker but I can't wait to see these boxes...

While I agree that stealing content is wrong and I would not participate in such activities. The studios will to a certain extent push illegal downloads. Personally if it goes to hd downloads I will not purchase any more movies, I will be done! I have no problem of downloads suplementing or...

I for one am not surprised that MS is pushing downloads. And now MS has come out and confirmed what many have been saying all along. I agree that downloads have there place and will happen. But I do not think that they will or should replace physical media. While many of us have disagreed over...

I completely agree with you! And this goes well beyond HDM and HT hardware. Right now the economy is on the verge and many people are nervous and are not spending money on things that they would buy otherwise. Like I mentioned I am in retail and I see less customers purchasing the more expensive...

For me I could care less about the BD Live feature on any Blu-ray. So I will not be buying AVP again as for me there is no reason to do so. I would however be very interested in all 4 Alien movies on Blu-ray. :D

Maybe they will change it to something like SD-DVD " The look and sound of simulated perfection". ;) But all kidding aside I want to thank Toshiba for doing the right thing and not dragging this format war out longer than it had to. I might even buy another Toshiba TV if they have a...

Those two articles where interesting thank you for posting the links Adam. :emoji_thumbsup: The one thing I thought was weird and maybe it was just me. I got the impression from the Toshiba interview that they where on a mission to hurt Blu-ray sales. By going on a mission to push...

Has there been any actuall release information from Universal and Paramount for the rest of the year? You would think that they have had enough time to figure out what there plans are going to be for Blu-ray by now. I would just like to see a new updated list come out for what we can exspect for...

You would think that they would go ahead and release everything that is pressed and ready to go. Is this how Toshiba rewards those who invested in there format? Paramount did receive money to put out HD-DVD tiltes, so why are they not coming out with a title that is ready to go? While I could...

HDM is not the only reason studios might want to master there films in HD. Let us not forget that we are getting more and more HD channels and those channels need HD content. These same studios make alot of money from networks airing there movies and with HD channels increasing. They will...

I am also with you on that JeremyR. :emoji_thumbsup: Now as far as what will happen next after 1080p Blu-ray after 10 or so years go by who knows? If you need a 50" screen to truely enjoy what 1080p has to offer, then what is the maximum screen size you can have before the limitations of...

I really hope to start seeing what titles we can actually start to exspect this year from Universal and Paramount. IMHO many of the classics are going to be restored anyway for HDTV cable or satalite stations. The plus will be that these titles will end up on Blu-ray so even if they do not sale as many of the HD versions as SD. The studios will still be making money off of HDM and HD broadcast, but this is...

If they have a really good fire sale on HD-DVD titles and they put a really good clearance price on Star Trek Season 1, I will be all over it. But I have a hard time actually spending $150 - $190 depending on the retailer.

While I am sure they are still feeling the pain of killing off there format, you would think that they would eventually get around to anouncing a Blu-ray player. I also found it interesting that they did not mention Sony or Blu-ray at all when making there anouncement. Normally wouldn't you...

If one thing is that is for certain is that things just seem to get very ugly for Toshiba's HD-DVD. While I am all for one format and some of you are more than aware of where I stand. I very well could be mistaken but I honestly do not beleive that any CE company would sign a contract to make HD-DVD or Blu-ray players. I would think that Onkyo could stop making HD-DVD players anytime they felt like it was no longer profitable to do so. And I doubt that Toshiba could force...
