Hi david, Yeah the vests they used I belive were not real leather, just a vinyly-plastic type. There is more detail in this disc and on my 92" screen, I could tell they weren't leather. The one I got that they sell is leather but needs to be more beat up looking. :)

Thanks for passing that on, Martin! Mellowed me out. I wonder why they decided not to at least include the deleted scenes in some version? They have been seen in the TV cut for years. And the commentary would have been awesome! :)

yep. If they have to, at least give us both cuts like E.T. did.

Arghhh...? :) Good news about the picture and docs. I'm starting to open my mind about it. I would have preferred the original cut with new transfer and audio but I can deal. And if R2 does indeed get the commentary and deleted scenes, it's classic Paramount. "Titanic" here with one less disc...

IMHO there is a difference between shooting something with a comic-book vibe, like "The Crow" which actually Was A CB and being so literal with replicated panels like "Creepshow" was. I just think it's gonna look silly and take all the suspense right out of the flick. Before it was atmospheric...

The original disc is anamorphic and looks great, especially for an older film. No EE, no heavy filtering. The new release (at least in R1) might actually look worse with overpumped colors, softened and then electronically shapened and brightened up.

Hi Stephen, Did you notice if any of the backgrounds are altered? Hill said in that interview that they were gonna do some CGI, I think.... And also, how does the transfer compare to the original disc? And how's the new 5.1 mix? I know, I'm a nudge. ;)
