Good post and interesting points, Nelson.
I for one, liked the nautical styled unis of II-VI. They were grand and theatric; great for the FILMS. Were they something that might be realistically used? I think not on duty; they looked too freakin hot and itchy! But for dress occasions they...
Sounds like the Marcus's Genesis Project was just a completely epic fail. LOL
David, you naughty boy for using protomatter! See what cheating got you?!
Wow, the new Trek must be really taking names if it passed IV already.
I'm delighted it's such a runaway success!
I guess I didn't realize IV had been THAT popular.
I re-watched TMP the directors cut on DVD the other night and I really like those upgraded FX and the editing. I agree this is the version I'll wait for on Blu.
Again...I'd love to see Shat get the chance to fix/finish V, but it sounds like Paramount are being hardasses on not spending cash...
At the risk of becoming a pariah around here, I'll go on record as saying that I bought the 'trilogy' on blu and really like the quality of the picture.
I use a PS3 and a 52" sammy...LN52650 I think. Beautiful set. I don't necessarily have the greatest eyes in the world as I had cataracts...
Gracias...I kinda prefer production order, too. Just more sensical as the actors develop their characters and stuff.
Did the TNG broadcast in production order I wonder? I still remember how 'stiff' those early season 1 episodes were...and how much improved TNG was into the 2nd season...
Hey Camper.
I'm HOPING you can make me feel like a moron...am I just MISSING something somewhere in the BluRay Season 1 packaging or on the disc labels that shows what episodes are on what discs?? Cuz I'm not seeing it and it's driving me up the wall putting discs in and taking them out to...
What's also cool about that Gary idea is that it would not HAVE to rely on extravagant display of FX to work. Gary Lockwood could have just donned those uncomfortable lenses again and most of the encounter could have been interesting dialog. Maybe it would turn out Gary was able to influence...
Nah...you gotta have his accent.
"Shounds splendid. Where do I shign?" lol
I find the idea awesome that he would have been on there as Sybok, but the reality is he would have dismissed the opportunity AND they could not have afforded him. No way.
To spice up this conversation, I read at...
I agree, excellent post Paul. I'm with you on all points, but I admit I got a chuckle out of Scotty's head-knocking scene.
Connery would have been awesome! Though the guy who played Sybok was actually quite good; he reminded me a lot of Gene Hackman.
Sadly, I also agree that Bill's not...
Phil, I'm such a geek I looked at all 44 pictures LOL Great quality on those Bandai ships! Did you build the "E" yet? That's my second favorite Enterprise
That's cool though...no painting or decaling! All done for you! Just painstaking wiring! LOL
I built that AMT 3-ship one...didnt turn...
Good post, Nelson.
I'm holding off for now.
As to when/if the DE's come on BluRay...my guess is as good as yours. Either about a year, or will coincide with the next Trek film with the new cast?
