UHD Need James Bond Movies on UHD Disc!

Fair enough you disagree, fair enough I disagree. Your insanely fast internet might be a factor, very few people have anything close to that. However I'd assume Apple can only send so much data, so it could just all come down to eyesight, equipment, seating distance, taste, etc. I use studio...

UHD Need James Bond Movies on UHD Disc!

Maybe iTunes has some special sauce but I've compared a lot of Vudu stuff to discs and discs win overwhelmingly every time. Not sure I've compared a 4k stream of a 4k master as someone mentioned, I'll do that soon, but I've compared a lot of stuff and the Vudu stream always looks more "fuzzy"...

UHD Need James Bond Movies on UHD Disc!

That's true, the ones I compared are 2k DIs. I'll have to see if I own something with a 4k master on Vudu in 4k and compare that. Maybe Men in Black? That's not true at all, it's all about field of view (viewing distance). I sit at a 40 degree field of view from that size a TV and I can assure...

UHD Need James Bond Movies on UHD Disc!

Like I said above, I really don't think it's gonna happen that fast. Especially not for such mainstream and "older guy" appealing stuff as Bond. So I really wouldn't worry about that, it all just comes down to when MGM gets their stuff together.

UHD Need James Bond Movies on UHD Disc!

People have told me the iTunes 4k editions are newer scans than the old Lowery scans used for the Blu-rays. Can't say I know that for sure, but that's what I have read.

UHD Need James Bond Movies on UHD Disc!

While discs are obviously becoming more and more niche, there's waaaaay more than a year to go in my opinion. These things take time, and as of right now discs still make studios more money than digital sell-through, so we've got quite a ways to go yet. However obviously the ease of selling on...

UHD Need James Bond Movies on UHD Disc!

They don't have HDR though, the cost and time of which might be a factor. Also MGM has largely left their catalog releases to labels, which don't do UHD yet. And on top of that MGM was using Fox to put out their stuff, and now Fox is going to Disney so things might be in flux there. Hopefully...
