Bleddyn, OUTSTANDING link. Thank-you. Everyone, check out that link. While the small-size of the images makes the difference between the R1 and R2 version subtle to detect on the computer screen...I can definitely see a reduction in "ringing" when I hover over the R2 links.
Awesome Steve! Those screen shots are gorgeous. I don't think I see the ringing in your shots that I see on my R1 version. If you can get a hold of an R1 copy just to compare...I'd be interested to hear your impressions (specifically, the ringing/EE). thanks! dave :)
Yes...that HD clip was GORGEOUS!!! I paid special attention actually so I could compare since I reviewed the DVD very soon after. There was a VAST amount of resolution increase in that native HD clip on the Oscars...and absolutely no ringing from EE!!! BTW, that subtitle issue...happened...
I'm thrilled with the great discussion here and the variety of well expressed opinions. Good show! The great thing about owning a film like this on DVD is that you have the *choice* to listen to whatever soundtrack you wish...or better yet...watch the movie more than once with different...

A compliment from Bill Hunt...woohoo! :b Bill, I'll be very curious as to your impressions of picture and sound. Also wanted to let anyone who was wondering know that the English Dubs are a translation of the English audio and not a "literal" translation directly from the Japanese...
TonyD, thanks for sharing your post in this thread. I had actually intended to copy it over and quote you but I got lazy. :) It's funny...when I was watching the movie I noticed that *exact* "are they lips?" thing going on with the EE...it actually took me a few times of closely evaluating...
I should have mentioned that the EX light lit up on my decoder...so yes it's EX flagged. However, I don't have my center-rear installed yet so I can't comment on the EX sound particularly...though the surround action wasn't very prominent even without EX...so I don't think that moving the...
