A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Goonies - in 4k UHD Blu-ray

Yeah, the brief shot of the octopus itself is from the movie - though run backwards in the video, as the original shot showed the octopus as it backpedaled. I'd be curious to know if the octopus appeared in the short version of the video. The full-length one is 2 parts and runs 12 minutes - I...

There's an octopus scene in the video but it's not the scene from the movie. Instead, the octopus only attacks Lauper. Of course, the movie mentions the octopus at the end - in a pretty bad continuity error - but the music video doesn't include the actual scene. At about 8 minutes:

Oh, I'm sure "The Thing" has made money by now. Probably took a while, but given its enduring popularity on video, it's certainly turned a profit!

Can't argue there, though I'd heavily give 1984 the nod. Summer 1984 movies I still like a lot: "Ghostbusters" "Temple of Doom" "Gremlins" "Star Trek III" (not great "Trek" but enjoyable) "Karate Kid" And some I liked then but don't hold up for me now ("Bachelor Party", "Purple Rain"...

A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Goonies - in 4k UHD Blu-ray

"Hit" depends on expectations to some degree, and the hype for "Goonies" was through the roof. It was 9th in the US with $61 million, and that was well below expectations. "Goonies" was supposed to be a massive hit but it just wasn't. No, it didn't bomb, but $61 million US was way lower than...
