    Apple does have a reputation for departments siloing themselves away from other departments who are developing for the same platform. To be fair though, my Windows PC at work crashes about half the time when resuming from the company-forced screensaver.

    If it crashes when it sleeps then don’t let it sleep. The energy savings is negligible and not worth the hassle of weird things happening on wake. I don’t think I’ve used a sleep function on any computer (Mac or PC) in years.

    I would first try not putting them to sleep for a week or two, along with not sleeping your internal drive and monitor. If the crashes continue, I would try leaving one or both unplugged for a week or two (if possible) and see if the crashes stop.

    Are you putting your disks and display to sleep when idle? If so, don’t do that and see if the crashes stop. Do you have anything (hub, hard drives, external dvd drive, etc...) connected via usb or thunderbolt? Try leaving them unplugged and see if the crashes stop.
