I finally had a chance to finish COD2 last weekend on easy mode. I tried veteran mode to see the difference and couldn't even make it around the first corner of the first Russian mission. I stepped it down a notch to battle-hardened and I'm on the second Russian campaign now.
Thanks Chad! :emoji_thumbsup: edit: Has the patch been included with the backwards-compatability download? I thought the game-save issue became known after that download became available.
Parker - Your best bet is to pick up a premium unit at WalMart, Hastings, Target, etc... It should have everything you need and will be a few dollars cheaper than buying a core + HDD + wireless controller + HD cable + remote. Going this route you will end up with a headset you will not use, but...
It does to my taste buds. I've never liked steak. Peter - Since I got my 360, I haven't spoken with anyone who has tried playing Halo on it. Sorry. So far I have PGR3, COD2, Condemned, DOA4 and NfS:MW. I have not had any thermal problems with my system. I usually try to play for an...
Amen. America's about capitalism but it shouldn't be about outrageous greed. Actions like these with the 360 should carry the same penalty as scalping concert tickets. Now back to the good stuff. Man, that thing is freakin' awesome! I played PGR3 and CoD2 last night for about an hour and a...
Just got home from work. I stopped by Wal-Mart to pick up some cookie dough and bumped into a guy I know who works in electronics. We talked for a minute about our plans for Christmas and I mentioned something about wishing someone would get in some 360s so I would have one to play over the...
Last Christmas is when I bought a replacement for my ailing PS2. I picked it up on either the 22nd or 23rd. There were at least a dozen on the riser with plenty of 1st gen xboxs. I work evenings so I miss the national news but I knew of no shortage then and didn't hear all the Sony rumors other...
Microsoft really dropped the ball on this one. At the rate the stores are replinishing their stocks, it will be sometime early to mid March before they have systems on the shelves. As I indicated in a previous post, in central Arkansas no store other than one Wal-Mart and an EB games which have...
Well I'm back. On advice from my better half, I decided to go earlier than I previously planned. There are two Best Buy stores within an hour of my house. I got to the first one in West Little Rock at 11:35 and there were 50+ people. The store was only getting 35-40 systems so some of them would...
I'm planning to head out to BB about 4AM and see what it looks like. If it's a regular campground, I'm coming back home. The stores here don't open until 9AM so if I'm lucky I'll have a good 5 hour wait in low 20 degree chill. Good thing the wind isn't blowing. BB is supposed to get 37...
Does anyone realise how much time and money MS would save if they listened to me (or anyone besides their shareholders for that matter)? I said it would fail dismally in Japan from day one. If the original xbox flopped over there, what made them think the 360 would perform any different? :angry...
I know BB is getting some in for the 18th so I'm planning on being there between 6:30 and 7AM. I just hope they don't screw around and sell the premium systems Friday along with the core systems which are supposed to go on sale then. My boss used to work for BB and that was a regular routine...
There's a guy selling a premium bundle in the paper for $750, but you have to buy his hdd for $150 extra. A guy in BB this morning said he'd read in the paper that Microsoft had stopped production of the 360 until they can correct the current power supply overheating and random...
Then a premium bundle it shall be. :) I was at Best Buy this morning about 20 minutes before opening and ended up being the first person in the store. I headed straight to the gaming area and asked if any 360 had arrived. I was greeted with Sorry sir, but we haven't received any 360s since...
Backwards compatibility is not an issue since I have no legacy games and no broadband so live is out of the question which renders the headset useless. (Talk about a run-on sentence.) I didn't think about the memory card so that puts it at $420+ tax. With a hdd, is a memory card still...
No i-pod here. I'm trying to cost justify getting the premium system. Premium system = $400 (includes wireless remote, hdd, HD cables, and remote) Core system = $300 (includes wired controller and AV cables) If the hdd serves no real purpose to gameplay, I may just spring for a core...
What's the full purpose of the hdd? I know you can do multiple game saves and download emulator programs to play old xbox games (which I have none). What else is it for? Do you have to be an xlb member to download the emulators? Will it be required for gameplay in the future?
Would direct shipping not drive the retail price up further, since the shipping cost would have to be absorbed somewhere? On a sad note, my boss bought a premium on ebay last night for $900.
I remember this happening launch day for both the original XBOX and PS2. I stopped by WalMart again tonight to pick up some Nyquil for my better half and stopped by electronics to see what games they had stocked. While I was there, the guy stocking told me they got three premium units tonight...
I believe it was intentional to drum up sales before the holidays, ala Disney and their moratorium system. Hurry out and pick it up now or wait 10 years. Bwa-huh-huh!!!
