    Yes, score tracks were used for the isolated scores on CAROUSEL and KING AND I (where they still existed sans vocals) but they did NOT use them for the actual film soundtracks. That is what was being debated, NOT whether they were in existence.

    Fox did not go back to music stems to make the R&H DVD releases. CAROUSEL was originally mixed in both 4 and 6 channel stereo, and THE KING AND I was also 4-channel. SOUTH PACIFIC was 6-channel, and those original mixes have been used to create the 5.1 DD on the DVDs.

    CAROUSEL's isolated music track is a bit spotty. Many of the songs still retain the vocals ("If I Loved You" & "You'll Never Walk Alone", for example). Why? Did isolated score elements for some of the film not survive?

    I disagree that Nancy Kwan is to blame for the sync error on the DVD of FLOWER DRUM SONG. Every other release I've ever seen of the film was right on in the sync of the pre-recording and her performance.     Wow, I'm glad I signed on here and found I wasn't the only person seeing that the picture and sound for some scenes is noticably off, ESPECIALLY "I Enjoy Being a Girl." It looks like the sound is maybe 5 or 6 frames faster than the video - VERY ANNOYING! :-(
