    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Smith: Revolutions displays this much better. But Smith is the yang to Neo's yin. Neo wants to save, Smith wants to destroy. It is my postulation that Smith is the systemic anomaly that always threatens the Matrix. His new powers come from his "joining" with Neo. Neo's abilities: Neo has to...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

I think the thread was longer than 59 pages at one point. But yes, you currently have 48 posts, including your last two, so some posts are clearly missing. Which is too bad, because the frequent members of this thread had such a fun and intelligent discussion :) Well, some of it remains. I've...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

john, I am referring to you, and your posts must have been lost to the ether, which is a real shame. I know you posted well before Page 40, and often. Could they be under joDOR? It is weird, Chuck

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

I was shocked at how well The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded worked together. There is no "gotcha". Everything presented in the first film is completely accurate with what is known at the time. When the rug is pulled out from the audience in the second film (the Architect), it's pulled out from...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

I'm briefly reviving this thread to throw in a link, equally suited to the videogame world (where it has already been linked). But I am putting it here based on the W Bros. involvement. It seems Shiny/Atari are working on a videogame called The Matrix: Path of Neo. It essentially allows the...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Matt, I remember walking out of Revolutions a little off-keel. It's a tough film to accept on the first viewing. I revisited it two weeks later, and I absolutely loved my second viewing. Neo's choice was much more clear and brilliant. The films REALLY reward multiple viewings. Take care, Chuck

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

EDIT: To save the mods the trouble :D Reloaded is still my favorite of the three. But they each have their strengths and weaknesses, their charms and nice moments. Take care, Chuck

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Interestingly enough, I skimmed the Reloaded Discussion and Revolutions Discussion thread this week. Simply amazing. I eagerly await my chance to watch all three together :) It might be a while, but it'll be worth it. Like Patrick, some of the complaints are truly baffling. There was plenty of...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Neither would I. The sequels tie so smoothly into The Matrix. I am certain they didn't have the scripts together or anything, but I imagine they had some pretty serious ideas. The first film foreshadows quite a bit ;) Take care, Chuck

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Thanks for the replies. I also agree that it is a hard pill to swallow. Check out my original review. My biggest negative was the Burly Brawl. Far overlong, I believe I called it. I like it more each viewing. I did not after the first viewing though. I also think a minute or two could be...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

In a CHUD interview, Joel Silver discusses the home release of Revolutions. Here are the details. - Revolutions in the spring - They want to create a new transfer for The Matrix for the SE - JS mentioned a big three disc set in the fall/x-mas timeframe that has all the films together. He...

The purpose of the Burly Brawl and those 7 minutes of film: The KB thread raised this, and I didn't think it fair to the KB thread to go into it there. I'll respond to Richard here and just link this post. Hope that's OK! "Both had masterfully executed action scenes in the final product...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Thanks, Scotty. I know you weren't being derisive :) Ebert also thumbed it up, but still had issues. Clearly, you have a few as well. It doesn't mean I will, of course. But I do trust you and Jimmy B. Scaling back expectations is ALWAYS a good thing. No worries...I am still extremely excited...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Scott, Good to hear, though I recall you were MORE enthusiastic after seeing Reloaded! The "Hmmmmm" is interesting. We'll just see what we see...very, very soon :) I can't wait. I actually expected Revolutions to be just as divisive. You can't do/say everything Reloaded did, and then go...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

I thought about including a defense of said score ;), but didn't. My last viewing in the theater was not a 10/10. I always have ONE bad viewing of films I like in the theater. But I still really enjoyed it. At home, I felt like I did on my second viewing. I anticipated conversations, and just...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Well, enjoyed The Second Renaissance, Final Flight of the Osiris, and The Matrix Reloaded last night. Even reread the first few pages of this very discussion thread :D I really enjoyed the viewing (my fourth total). The Smith/Neo yin-yang has certainly been emphasized. I caught a few MORE...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

That's what I am hoping for. I understand that will tick off plenty of folks, but ambiguity is a strong theme throughout, and a pat answer would be anti-climatic (for me, as a viewer). I hope he liked it. He's been a strong proponent of the series. Thanks for the heads-up. Take care, Chuck

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

I think we might be seeing a trailer switcheroo. They appear to be using scenes from two different points in the film to get across an idea. I don't think Neo sees Bane as a Smith fire image in that PARTICULAR scene. Clearly he does elsewhere, or I am dead wrong. Take care, Chuck

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Chris, That almost as cool as another "idea" I heard (probably here in this very thread) - Ted waking up in class and telling Bill about the dream he just had. I'd pay MAD $$$$ just to see that on the DVD ;) Take care, Chuck

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

John, Thanks! I wish I came up with it...I am certain I heard it somewhere :D I feel it holds serious merit, but we'll see where they go. Another common thought is that Agent Smith is the new variable which changes the outcome. I disagree with that notion. Agent Smith is the imbalance that...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

I LOVE that essay. It's simple, direct, well-written, and comprehensive. Yet again, I register my disagreement with the specifics of the Architect playing God and being "prayed to", but I do believe Neo stopped the Sentinels by entering the Matrix and sending the command there...an...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Thanks, Chris. I thoroughly enjoyed my first taste of that treatise, and I'll enjoy rereading it. I don't agree with all assessments re: Revolutions, but it is the most well-researched analysis performed on the film. It also makes for great reading. I'll share some thoughts on it after a...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

I am 100% positive. In the game, Bruce Spence (Trainman) said the previous Zion only LASTED 72 hours...he's referencing the destruction of Zion, not it's life-cycle. Take care, Chuck

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Chris, Thanks for finding and sharing that. It speculates on many of the ideas we have, and draws quite a few of the same conclusions. I think it will play out similarly to what the essay postulates, but with some significant differences. It's a great read, and it helped solidify some of...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

I wear those same glasses sometimes. I wish my country had term limits in Congress. I wish films could cost $5 for the evening film, and that great actors got $5 Million for their hard work. They've driven the cost up, and expect the consumer to pay and pay. It's hard to go backward. My only...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

I slice it this way. First off, the number is ludicrous. 15% of what = $250 million? I'll answer that...1.6+ Billion. Over time, and through DVD, it COULD hit that. It won't get there, so don't believe the Hollywood hype. They love numbers. He will take home around 100 Million I bet. For two...

    The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

Lou, EDIT: He only gets the money if the movie is successful to the nth degree. Even more, he put his money where his mouth is. He is not getting paid for his work. He is getting paid for his success. If more actors had those stones, how different would Hollywood be? Jim Carrey signed onto...
