Geez! I was really "out of the loop." I had not even heard of BOINC until seeing James's post today. About a year ago, the folks at Berkeley had something about the current phase of Seti ending some time around May 2004, but I haven't heard anything since then. Now I know why Dennis's output...
Do others get regular units not accepted?
I can't recall ever having this problem. Most of my units get sent automatically when completed so perhaps I wouldn't know if there was a problem with them. But I do send units completed at home via modem and have never gotten any type of error message...
Not much activity in this thread lately, so it's time to get it back to the top of the pile! There has been quite a bit of shake-up at the top. Wayne "The King" Bundrick has passed Craig in a battle of the power crunchers. Pat S has moved up the list faster than anyone lately but may have...
The 500 Mhz PIII in my office is scheduled to be replaced in the next couple of weeks with a 1.7 Ghz PIV, so maybe I'll be able to hold you off for a few months. :)
I submitted about a dozen units Wednesday evening and was pleasantly surprised that the entire transfer went through without any delays. Some of the statistics pages are still down however.
Wayne and Daniel are cranking our some serious units. Way to go guys!! After an almost six-month long slide in the rankings, it's nice to see HTF making a come-back.

All Seti Teams #143
Welcome aboard Daniel Whelan. Thanks to your 9682 units, we've managed to creep back up a bit in the rankings.

Seti Club Teams #95
It has taken me a long time to do it, but I finally managed to pass the idle Jeff Blair to move into 7th place on the HTF Seti Club. I've also moved up to #7978th place among all Seti users. I believe I shall quaff a lovely adult beverage in celebration! :)
A quick reminder to anyone new to the SETI game -- the SETI servers have been notoriously unreliable over the past year. As a result, you should seriously consider using a program such as Seti Driver or Seti Queue so that you always have a cache of units waiting to be processed. These programs...

It's good to see we have some new members joining the cause. We've kind of taken a beating in the rankings lately. Our highest ranking was #131, but we're now down to #140.
Patrick, I noticed your comment about running Seti as a Service. I'm currently running Seti as a Service on several...
Congrats Peter and Pat!
You're right Peter. As a team, we've definitely slowed down. Quite a few teams have passed us by in the past few months. Unfortunately, we've slipped in the rankings again...
Ranking Update!
All Seti Teams #136
Yee-Haw! 5000 units processed, 8841st place among all Seti users, 771st place among school Seti users, and 8th place in the HTF Seti Club. I believe I shall quaff a lovely adult beverage in celebration!
Shoot! That's too bad Mike.
Speaking of bad news, I must report that once again we've slipped a spot in the rankings.
Ranking Update!
All Seti Teams #135
Mike, what operating system are these computers running? Except for my home computer, all of my computers are running Windows 2000 and I recently started running Seti as a service. It runs all the time as a background service, meaning it's invisible to all users and doesn't slow the machine...
Ouch! We've slipped in the rankings a bit.
Ranking Update!
All Seti Teams #134
I have a question for you Windows 2000 experts out there. I have the screensaver version of Seti installed on some computers in a grad students workroom. The operating system...
Are you sure you're ready for the pressure and responsibility that goes with being #8? It's not all prestige and glory you know! :)
Unfortunately Wayne, your productivity has taken a big upswing just as mine is tanking. Our tech center just installed Windows 2000 on three of my slaves located...
