Another question then, if you say leave the number of the theater, which is more interruptive. Having the cell phone go off in the theater, even with ringer on (to say nothing of vibrate), or have the usher come into the theater and search for the person whose family/job called the theater?

I do have to laugh that people who say that people are too rude to know how to appropriately use cell phones aren't worried about vigilante jammers abusing that power as well. Personally the rudeness and obnoxiousness of a few cell phone users is far less worrisome then what rude people could do...

It's also worth noting that a doctor who drives through a tunnel, barring traffic, is out of touch for a matter of minutes. A cell-phone jammed theater means they're out of touch for several hours. I can't wait for the first doctor who misses an emergency page to show up because someone decided...
