    Star Trek future movies?

I would rather see a new crew and new ship, perhaps set in the TOS or Movie era. There are so many unexplored races, settings, events, etc. The sky is the limit, really.

Kevin, I don't agree what Insurrection was disastrous. Certainly, I enjoyed it a lot less than most Trek movies. But I don't think it was a failure on the level of "Trek V."

I don't think that's right, Ric. Kirk was already an Admiral in TMP, and he was still an Admiral at the start of TWOK. I doubt he would have helmed a 5-year mission as an admiral in between the two movies...especially since one of the major themes of TWOK is how we wants to captain a starship...

    Star Trek future movies?

A Captain Sulu series might have been a stretch (though with the power of Excelsior they could have made a nice militaristic series) but a Captain Sulu movie would have been nice. In fact, if Sulu had been the connection to the original series in GENERATIONS instead of Kirk, it might have...

    Star Trek future movies?

yeah, but at least it HAD Romulans. In Star Trek V we have....yep!....once again some rogue Klingons in a bird of prey. No money to make any more models?

    Star Trek future movies?

I have a strange (at least, in relation to everyone else) affection for Generations. For some reason, it just really clicks with me. Maybe it was seeing the TNG crew on the big screen for the first time, I don't know. My rankings: 1. Khan 2. Undiscovered Country 3. Motion Picture...

I disagree. At least Nemesis actually uses the Romulans as major/minor characters. That's one good thing about it in my view. And Data' sacrifice, and subsequent "Rebirth", resonate with me too.

But, you have to remember, the success of TNG on TV had a lot to do with the success of Star Trek VI as well. Not trying to take anything away from VI, which is one of my favorites, but there were several tie-ins to the TNG series in that movie.

    Star Trek future movies?

I think I agree with Jason, for the following reason: Paramount hasn't even TRIED the most obvious solution to revitalizing Trek, which is getting rid of Berman. Until they try that (and I mean completely gone from Trek) then they shouldn't try the ten year option.

    Star Trek future movies?

It's amazing that Berman has lasted this long as "head" of the Star Trek franchise.

    Star Trek future movies?

It's too bad ENTERPRISE is ending so early, and probably won't make the jump to the big screen. The idea of a Trek series set in the early years of space exploration has always been compelling, and had lots of potential, and it's too bad this idea has probably now been tarnished in the waning...

    Star Trek future movies?

There are two great mysteries in the scifi/comic/geek world: 1) How Chuck Austen continues to be the writer on A-list comics; and 2) How Rick Berman continues to helm Star Trek at Paramount. In any case, I love the idea of a series between TOS and TNG. And any series needs to explore...

    Star Trek future movies?

The Inner Light boggles the mind, doesn't it? To think that: someone could live an entire lifetime in the span of a few seconds, and then have to live with those intimate memories for the rest of another lifetime...just briliant and thought provoking writing!

Of course, not everyone agrees with that, but I see your point.
