The Kenwood isn't a bad deck at all. A lot of it depends on personal taste as much as anything else.

SIRIUS talk shows have always taken callers; including their originals, on air.. hell, I've been on air with them ;)

Well, this makes an interesting conundrum, though, because you're betting on the average consumer looking at it and just saying "more cost"; by the same token, I would wager that the average consumer (not on HTF, etc.) would look at the two services and say: "This one has the NFL, NHL...

SIRIUS has already said that Stern misunderstood, and that no channel would be at any inflated cost. FYI, for those of us that pay SIRIUS on a yearly basis, it's $10/month.

Yeah, I've seen the "SIRIUS to go belly up" threads all over XMFan and elsewhere. Howeer, while SIRIUS is shelling out $500M (over five years) they don't shell out penny 1 until 2006. Which means every day from now until then, they get free advertising in Howard Stern and others. They are...

Uh, well, this is way wrong (IMHO). While I am a Chiefs fan, my wife, a Florida native, is a Tampa Bay fan. Being able to listen to the Bay games, by their home announcers, is a big benefit. NFL radio is 24/7, 365 with everything from draft to preseason to training camps, talent evaluation...

I think that depends on your flavor of Music. Each week newer and unreleased, unsigned hip-hop acts get a showcase on many of the urban channels, providing access to artists you may not have heard before. Since their arrangement with Eminem, new releases by D-12, Eminem, and his label acts...

Why Ron, if I didn't know better, I'd say your absolutely sour grapes ;) I am well aware of your musical opinion, and I know what you think of that. That having been said, SIRIUS has had a series of very good "gets".. While SIRIUS doesn't fulfill your idea of what makes for a good music...

Yep, pretty much people like me. I'll admit it, the majorit of time I'm listening to music on SIRIUS it's Radio Disney, because my kids like it. That having been said, it's the news feeds and sports which got me into SIRIUS originally and keep me there. :)

I don't think Rush is on XM.. http://www.xmradio.com/pdf/america_right_grid.pdf At least, he isn't in their schedule. If he was, that would be a major announcement, and many affiliates, who have exclusives through 2007, would go nuts.

$12.95 month to month $9.95/month if you pay for a year at once There are tons of units, some of the newer ones are very slick (IMHO) SIRIUS landing several big NCAA programs, the NFL, and now Stern are a series of big lands. And having Stern as an unpaid spokesman for 15 months to tout...

40% of 15 Million arbitron would be slightly under 7 Million subscribers. Not a bad bit.

    Howard Stern signed to Sirius

SIRIUS has managed to put together several very good months; mostly due to the NFL, which has really driven their sales since August. Announcements of other sports networks (like NCAA contracts) helped as well, and have kept the ball rolling for them as far as growing thier base demographic...

This is a five year contract with negotiated terms giving him music influence over 3 streams at SIRIUS. Contract will start effective of January 1, 2006; however, Stern & Viacom have options to waive the remainder of his contract (ie, Viacom can decide at any point in the year to advance the...
