Not neccessarily as Cosworth is also now up for sale, those engines might well be available but under a different nameplate.

Villeneuve signs with Sauber for 2005 & 2006! He will replace Fisichella who going to Renault next year. Jarno Trulli has already left the Renault & Villeneuve is testing the car today at Silverstone (pics are already up on AtlasF1) Of course this begs the question why not put Jaques in the...

IN Schumacher's case last year where his rear tires were a foot from the racing surface the quickest way to clear the car was to push him. Alonso's case was not quite as clear cut, but I would have thought they could have got him back on track with a quick shove faster than getting the crane...

Pretty amazing race, I was certina that ther'd be a Ferrari-free podium, but nooooooooo. You can see the banking in some shots... The exit of the parabolica is necessarily adjacent to the exit of the banking (the oval and the road course share the main straight which made the combined cicuit...

Interesting. The AtlasF1 story mentioned cometing in F1 cars & Ferrari sports cars as well as the WRC cars. Also taking part are Sebastian Loeb, Alonso, Olivier Panis and Nick Heidfeld.

The Belgium GP was a fun race but I though there were way too many (i.e. more than zero) Saftey Cars. I suppose they did not have much choice under the circumstances, but I'd hate to see the SC become an integral part of F1. It was great to see them back at Spa! easily the best track any major...

Only if you're a sissy Euro road racer, real men like Sarah Fisher crash like that on a routine basis! ;) McLaren seemed to have got back into their old form, (w)Ron(g) Dennis even cracked a smile. It will be fun to see Kimi and JPM on the same team next year.

Monaco has a permanent pit complex (just upgraded for this past GP) and the same goes for Melbourne (the rest of that circuit is also public roads (and "car park".) On the BBC's circuit maybe they could the pits just after Hyde Park Corner where there seem to be several turn offs to the left...

Yeah Burti's crash was horrible to watch. Seeing it I was convinced he was dead.

All true race fans agree with that I'm sure (that we'd rather see zero accidents.) The Stan Fox picture maybe sent the wrong message. To me that horrific crash (which I watched live on TV) demonstrates little other than the foolishness of racing at over 230 mph on a track with no run-off room...

Supposedly Ralf has signed a three-year deal with Toyota for an absurd amount of money. He had a major accident during testing at Monza last year in which he also suffered a concussion. Multiple concussions is a very serious condition and I hope Ralf is weighing his options wisely.

The semi-auto box is essentially a manual layout but the clutch and shifting is electro hydraulically activated instead of by a pedal or shifter, so yes there is no torque converter.

F1 fans have been almost unanimous in condemning how long it took to reach Ralf after the accident & no-one on this thread said that the FIA were "all over" the incident. 3 minutes to get to the car is unacceptable. After all you can't spell "fiasco" without "FIA" ;) I for one am very glad...

I for one don't care how fast Indy cars go. You know for me at least having nasty looking wrecks, whether or not the driver is hurt, is not an essential part of racing. I would prefer not seeing any wrecks frankly. Racing is not some pissing match on who has the biggest, fastest crashes.

Those 2-3 minutes before anyone got to Ralf were very disturbing, they need to look into what took so long & fix it, pronto. I read on Atlas that they are already doing 320kph through that corner (aprox. 200 mph... they only gain 10mph or so all the way down the front straight) so that would...

From what MS & Ferrari have said it was Schumacher's left foot that caused the lock up :) I was just watching part of the race again (its still in my TiVo) and it was MS that hit JPM... MS does his brake check, JPM swerves to the right to avoid hitting MS in the rear, but MS moves to the...

Schumacher said he was just warming his brakes & there was no mechanical malfunction. First let me say that I've been a Ferrari fan for the past 20+ years and am no Schumacher basher but I don't understand why everyone is dumping on Montoya for this incident! It seems to me that it was a rare...

I have to wonder "Fred" Alonso and Michael Schumacher were thinking with their tunnel antics (not to mention the "marketing genius" who thought it was a good idea to put a $250,000 diamond on the nose cone of a Jag F1 car.)

Its very interesting to see Button & BAR so suddenly catapulted to (almost) the front of the pack. Honda & BAR have spent so much money in past seasons with little to show for it (except for having the loudest engine in F1), but along comes Dave Richards & then the departure of "Cheques"...

Is professional golf a US-only sport (like NFL) or do people in other countries follow it? If there is a global interest in watching people play golf maybe that would explain why Tiger Woods makes even more money than Michael Schumacher.
