I've said this before, but it bears repeating: This soundtrack is magnificent. To say it is my favorite TV soundtrack of all time would be a stretch in the face of Star Trek TOS and The Fugitive 1960s, but to say it's in solid third position...absolutely. I highly recommend it.

106 “Eight Hours to Die” I love the scene when Lucas takes Mark into town to buy boots.... ...and Addie tells Lucas Mark needs green vegetables. There are so many authentic touches to this show. I sometimes forget just how great THE RIFLEMAN is.

104 “The Marshall” Nice to see Micah make his entrance. I never got that he called Lucas “Lucas Boy” for the first time when Lucas was actually acting like a boy. And it stuck! I love noticing new things in shows I grew up with.

103 “End of a Young Gun” One of my favorites of the entire series. Michael Landon sells the transformation of his character beautifully, and the episode uses a technique at the end I love: Landon’s character goes off to make amends with the law. We're not sure exactly how it’s going to come out...

102. “Home Ranch” I love how both sides could win by simply killing the other, and both have equal opportunity to do so, yet neither do. I’m not sure I buy the baddie giving in at the end, but I sure do like the message, something I’m not so sure we would see on network TV today.

Look what was in my Christmas stocking this year! Sometimes, no matter how bad I feel, there are maybe half-a-dozen pieces of music in this world that, when I hear them, I feel at least 50% better. The "Father & Son" theme from The Rifleman is one of those precious tunes. :-)

Too bad they can't redo season one and let those of us who shelled out money for it get a set comparable to season two.

I wish these had been done by professionals--and priced reasonably. Waited so long for it. So disappointed in the quality of season one. The shows I recorded off TV are much clearer.

I don't understand why they couldn't simply author the subtitles onto the same episodes and have an option to turn them off and on. I can do this with the professional disc authoring software I have on my computer. As mentioned above, this not only adds discs but degrades quality. Very...

I get the impression from the style of the press releases and the quality of the website (not to mention the packaging and price point) that this is a small outfit doing well to get this on DVD.

I put this in my cart to order. $83 is just too high. Gonna wait. Maybe get it for less down the road. I don't mind paying a premium for specialty material, but this is simply too much, especially for episodes I already have.

I am anxious to read some reviews of the first season set, for sure.

Given that I own the previous DVD releases, this is simply too rich for my blood unless it turns ot to be some kind of supreme remastering.

Fantastic. This, along with Batman, are two sets I would dearly love to own and be able to replace my bootlegs.
