I get it, but all the users that cut their cable ties because of very similar habits by these providers still doesn't solve the issue. And it seems that they want thier digital cake and eat it too, on the backs of those already bitten once by the cable companies. Cusomers get tired of playing...

What I find so strange is that everyone cut the cable because there was a sea of channels, most not watched, and the endless commercials. Now with the apps, they are all going to the cable format of medium to heavy commercial rotation or buy the higher monthly subscription for the commercial...

I'd perfer for no ads, but at least it's one in the beginning as opposed to many cutting into the storyline at odd intervals...at leaset with the older shows there were poiints in the presentations that left opening for ads...these idiots just stop it in mid sentence and drop the ads bomb!!

Cable companies have been in a panic since thier customers are and have been dropping them like a hot potato. Tired of 600 channels when you only want 12. Now the companies that were offering the other option are immitaing thier cable cousins.

Like you I worked in radio too, for over 38 years, and in none of my tenure as DJ or even as Program Director did I ever repeat a commercial more than once in a quarter hour. I know this "machine-gun" mentaility came into fruition with the arrival of corporate take overs by outfits like...

Oh you Lucky few.LOL!!! with these new free with ads format, there is no rhyme or reason to them. They drop them in like hand granades, just where ever...in mid sentence and it's BANG!!! Not just a stupid ad, but the same head banging commercial over and over agin!!! Dude, I don't need abetter...

The sad thing is most younger viewers don't remember "Free TV" when TV was on only from 4am for the farm reports till about 1am, when most stations signed off with the Star Spangled Banner and then dead air. Most areas had onlt 7 0r 8 channels at most (the 3 networks and others being local +...

What's got me crazy is Amazon Prime...I used to get all kinds of great movies and tv series commercial free!! Now, since IMBd has aquired many of the tv series appearing on Prime, they changed from FREE to Free WITH ADS!!! WTH!!!! This lowers the overall quality experience in Prime and have...

Amazon is restructuing to less free programing and more IMBd free with ads mindset...I thinking about dropping them. There was a change about 6 moths ago, with thier IMBd featues. These series that were originaly free with (Danger Man and theSaint for example) Prime regrouped to free with ads...

noted, and a "centralized hub" would be answer against the traditional cable mindset. With all of these intities shuffeling and changing and augmenting I don't see anything happening well into the tme when the smoke finally starts to dispurse.

thanks, but you've just made my point!! I don't want any Bundles, in an ala carte world that mindset is prehistoric!! You can have your channel and watch it too, it just takes time...

licenseing agreements can be modified, especially with a company like TCM. Companies, like people don't like to move outside of their comfort zones. This doesn't mean that it's outside the realm of possibilities, right?

What I'm preposing is to add the app in addition to thier exsiting presence in "cable world", not droping out and just doing a standalone streaming app. To do Both, test the waters and see and make adjustments accordingly...senceable and progressive and maybe, just maybe even successful?!!

HBO Max has titles from TCM but the advantage of the live stream are the insights and stories behind the films that are offered that is not preasent on the HBO Max hub. I have almost 4000 titles so for me movies are a big thing, but I enjoy aboiut the live feed are the intros, stories and...

SLing and others like Hulu +live, as I've stated before are "cable" wrapped in a different package. To get the channel I want (TCM), I have to buy 30-50 channels I'll never watch!!! In an al carte world, TCM needs to smell the roses of opportunity and go outside of thier comfort zone take...

I'm still amazed that TCM hasn't stepped up to create a TCM+ service? I miss the live feeds. In order to get the live feed you have to subscribe to a cable/cable-esque sevice that I just won't do!! Catch 22!! HBOmax does have select titles from the TCM channel, but not the live streaming!!

Yep, I feel your pain!! I don't know exactly when, but about 4 or 5 months ago all IMDb programing went from FREE to free with ads!!!!!!!!! This has definatly lowered it's value in my eyes!!
