Sam, you destroyed Elden Ring! Have you dipped in the other Souls games yet?
36 minute mark he ranks the "Souls games".
I have to say his views align with mine quite a bit.
I HATED Sekiro 5 hours in and I gave up.
He is too harsh on Dark Souls 2...it was very difficult, but not that bad...
I beat Margit the Fell Omen. Absolutely insane how such a vicious boss turned into a walk in the park with just an easy switch in weapons. What seemed impossible turned out to be one of the easiest boss battles...after the switch. It pays to experiment.
Beat castle Morne. Slightly frustrating thanks to the gargoyle wing creatures. Once I was out of arrows, it went from easy to not so easy instantly. Boss was very manageable. Summons to keep him busy, smash, and roll.
Nice side quest with daughter and knight father --you must reunite them...
6:05-7:50ish
Johnny nails it.
It is frustrating, terrifying, and challenging. All the "Souls" games have been. But this seems to leave those behind because of the open world/size, and uncertainty of "am I doing this right?"
Doesn't matter--- make sure your character is great stats with...
So this is exactly what I was talking about with open world issues...and understand this is completely my fault, so if you give me sass about it, I guess that is understandable.
I never as a personal rule look for any hints, cheats, or guides to help me get through a game. I just don't.
I'm...
It is a shame that once completed I never have the desire to revisit any of the Souls games. And I never will. So with Elden Ring I'm playing as a Bandit, and a Vagabond. I love both character classes, and especially can't wait to see how powerful my Bandit character will be at high level...
This guy is an idiot.
At 8:30 he says something to effect of "the thing about the "Souls" games is that they are well received they don't sell that well"
So those 10 million units sold of DS 3 weren't that great huh? That was way over double the sales of The Last Of Us 2, and it outsold Ghost...
Well said. Yeah the boss battles have always sucked, and I mean that in a loving way. They are the reason the "Souls" games have always been labeled as too difficult. Because they are...until you beat them. The exploration, and atmosphere (and killing random baddies) has always been the...
Dark Souls 3 sold 10 million units, which was quadruple the sales of the previous game. It seems with each new entry, these games become increasingly popular. Elden Ring should hit close to 20 million when all is said and done.
The positive reviews (which is nothing new for these games) always...
I understand their point of view completely. I'd consider myself a skilled "Souls" player, and I think this game is quite overwhelming. My gut reaction is that open world for this type of game is a poor fit. No matter the positive reviews. All the souls games before, and Bloodborne were...
Those are all good and dandy, but strength, stamina, and equipment don't help a whole lot in the way of fighting a very tough boss. You still have to have to exploit weaks spots, and have hella good reaction time to stand a chance. Chance that one boss will take you 15, or 20 tries to defeat...
