Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

I brought this over to my parents house and watched it with them. They loved it, and asked if I had more movies like it. I told them I do, and would bring some over soon. I am a somewhat selfish movie owner. I watch so many of my movies isolated from the rest of the world. And it is the...

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

You're welcome Josh. Before the Criterion edition was released, I haven't watched it in over a decade. I always had hope of a Blu-Ray release. I had no idea it would be a 4K transfer and would look so gorgeous. A far cry from the pan and scan DVD-(edit: original DVD was widescreen. I...

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

There are seven or eight segments(dreams) over the course of the film. Apparently these were dreams of Kuroswa himself that were profound, and left an impression. I never found it to be depressing, but there is one part that is quite like a nightmare. Unsettling. Overall I would rather label...

Have you watched the Criterion release of Kurosawa's 'Dreams'? Finally, a beautiful transfer for such a great film.

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

I love 'Before Sunrise', but I only watched 'Before Sunset' once(when it was released). I thought it was much different than the first film. I remember the "time" theme to it. I also remember I felt a bit sad after seeing it. So much wasted time apart when they could have been...

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

Regarding "The Train Robbers" I thought was decently fun movie. But Ben Johnson elevates any average Western film in my opinion.

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

Three Days Of The Condor is a favorite film of a friend. I still have never watched it, but he assured me that because of my extreme admiration of "The Conversation", and "Marathon Man" that it is right up my alley of 70's thrillers.

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

He makes the series great. Speaking of Robert Duvall, I'm still shocked there is no Blu-Ray of 'The Apostle' I think it is his best acting to date...mesmerizing. Even better than 'Tender Mercies' in my opinion.
