Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I watched a YouTube video from someone I think is pretty honest (he owns an amazing video game store in Vancouver). 30 years old and he never watched Star Wars before. He watched "A New Hope" for the first time, and one of his biggest complaints was the dated CGI. 30 Year Old Man Reacts to...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

And at this point it doesn't even matter anymore. The unaltered versions will become public domain in a few more decades. But the bottom line regarding the home video of what Disney has, or hasn't planned for the future none of us know. We can guess, and speculate. We know nothing. We could...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Sadly I think that the damage has already been done, meaning that those that really want the unaltered movies in HD probably have them in one form or another. They are most likely perfectly fine with the professional-like fan edits. Back in 2011 (has it been that long?) when the BD...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I don't think we will ever see the original un-altered trilogy either on BD or streaming. It really bothers me that Disney doesn't seem to care that the bootleg versions are being sold at an alarmingly brisk pace on E-Bay.

Yes, I'm sure you are right.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

No, but the people burning them to Blu-Ray disc, and selling them on E-Bay are making hundreds of thousands of dollars. The sales counter(687 sold for example) for proof, and Average price point of $100 are making illegal pirates into millionaires. I find it puzzling that Disney doesn't shut...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Respect, yes certainly. But if you like the original theater releases much more, then it is a major loss for the fans of those versions. I made this analogy before: Del Shannon created one of the most memorable Rock and Roll songs of all time "Runaway" in 1961. Well liked by many. From those...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Shame on E-Bay. The seller with the OT unaltered is still selling the Bootleg Blu-Ray at an alarming rate. Well on his way to becoming a millionaire from his burn, and print operation. That is unacceptable. I'm really shocked E-Bay hasn't shut him down already-This has gone on for months...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

To each their own. With the exception of the changes made to Bespin(CLoud City) in TESB, I wasn't thrilled with any of the changes.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Well, there is definitely an audience for the original trilogy unaltered. There was a seller on E-Bay a while back that was selling the "Despecialized" on BD. He made over ten grand in a few days time.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I was going to bring this up months ago after I watched "Star Wars" at a friends house. Didn't want to stir up an angry response from anyone because I thought it was fantastic.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Star Wars has been on VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, and Blu-Ray. Next up 4K Blu-Ray which should take off next year. And when it gets released in that format will it need a selling point like the OT unaltered, or will the picture and sound sell itself?

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I'd pay money not to have the "Nooo" in my OT, but since there is nothing I can do about it I might as well get used to it. My friend(biggest Star Wars fan I know) and I worked at Toys R Us in the mid 90's. He had the Star Wars radio drama on CD, and I remember listening to it working 3rd...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

That exchange between the Emperor, and Vader is interesting, but with that much conflict between the two the fate of the emperor would have been much less surprising.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Didn't Lucas try to make the Star Wars more Kid friendly by making Han look like a victim shooting Greedo in self defense instead of blasting him into the upholstery without warning? Also the clone issue. Sure, the good guys kill of a lot of stormtroopers, but as it turns out they are clones...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I watched my favorite Star Wars film 'Return Of The Jedi' last night (Ewoks never bothered me, they may be fuzzy and short, but they are SAVAGE) and got to the Vader "NOOOO" part. It didn't even bother me. Maybe I'm starting to warm up to the changes. The Jabba singers part is still a bit...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I agree. To actually own the deleted scenes, the scenes I have heard about and saw pictures of in magazines was a no brainer. This was a holy grail for me. The price for the Blu-Ray set could have been $150 and I would have paid it to see them. It was pretty great watching them (most from...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

You're probably right. I used to think they would have to be released because it's the biggest selling point for another trilogy release on Blu-Ray. But with the advent of 4k......well the SE would sell itself with a new 4K transfer.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I think George has always been on the cutting edge of film advances, so when CGI happened he embraced it. In order for his Star Wars creation to stay relevant as long as possible into the future. However, if there is ever a point in filmmaking where CGI becomes old, or boring, and films are...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

My urge to watch the original trilogy has lessened from once a year, to now like once every few years. So although it would be great to own the unaltered trilogy on Blu-Ray, I really just don't care a whole lot anymore.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Ha ha. I'm not the biggest fan of the prequels either, but I watched episode 1 just the other night babysitting my niece(8 years old) and she absolutely loved it, and that upped my enjoyment of the film 100%. My three nephews are all hooked on the prequels also. I have heard the OT being...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Yes, I'm sure it will happen. There will most likely be a new Blu-Ray release of the OT unaltered. 3 reasons I think this: 1) Drum up more interest in a blitz-like marketing campaign(emphasis on the original trilogy and and the stars of those films). 2) Give consumers the ultimate reason to...
