Hi Mac, For sure use your denon 2900 for dvd a, sacd(it would be the only way) and reg cd. To do this properly you have to use the analog outputs on your player. Like trevor said, it is unlikely your a/v will have 6.1 in analog. I personally use my digital out for all movies. My a/v does an...

Trevor, No doubt on the min 200 hours. Walter did tell me to do this for 8 to 10 days. I read recently in HT mag that for some reason these sacd and dva machines(multi) do require extensive use for the sound to come together. I don't really understand why. I do understand speakers and a/v's...

Do you think 175 hours of repeat play on your dvd player will improve your sound? Up to yesterday I was not to impressed with 2 channel music from a regular cd. The sound lacked bass and imaging and depth.....until the 175 hour of play. All of sudden I was hearing detail I never heard before...

Gee trevor you have patients of steel....I had my player on repeat since 5:00pm Weds. Walter said to do this for 8 to 10 days!I have watched 3 movies since then.......could not hold off, to many movies to catch up with. Like I have mention to walter, I notice real difference in Video already...

I ordered a new modd unit, so I dont have one here to compare to as I only had 30 days to return my old one. My old unit was returned last weds. Dont matter, I know whats under the hood! that is all that realy matters.;)

My modd 2900 arrived today, pretty good only 3 days after ordering. As recommended you have to break in for 200 hours before critical listening. I hope trevor will give ya review on friday when his 200 hours up. In mean time mine will be playing from now to next week before I will do any...

I had the 2900 home for a month..........in a few days I will have a new Modd 2900! At least if I cannot hear the difference I will know that my 2900 is equiped like a turbo charged V8ex.:D

How does your Modded 2900 sound Trevor? I ordered one today, not as beefed up as yours, but with level one. I owned the stock 2900 for 1 month and was very impressed with the sound it produced,so the modified version should be incredable!;)

My 2900 is quiet. There is no noise at all, you cannot here the disc spin. When you load a disc, you can hear the tray open, but thats it. It does take the disc a little longer to load than Im use too. I also notice if you hit the open button then insert a disc, and push play instead of close...

Did some checking around,the 5900 would cost us canadians about $1400.00 more than the 2900......gee thats a lot. Any canadians find a dealer yet that carries the 5900? If I go for the 5900 I have 17 days left before the 30 day return is over. Anyone order from the states?
