    New Wave?? AbFab's been around for years, Men Behaving Badly finished years ago. The New Wave of British Comedy is things like The Office, Black Books, Phoenix Nights, Little Britain.

    I haven't seen the newest ones, but I kind of agree. I liked the ending to the "finding the watch" story - them walking off into the sunset.

    Only Fools & Horses is almost certainly going to win. It's incredibly popular in the UK, and the recent specials were amongst the most watched shows in years (I believe).

    Another good example is Only Fool's And Horses - the very early series (with Grandad) are currently being shown on PBS, and my wife, an American, can't make head nor tail of it. She has no context for it whatsoever. There's a lot of UK comedy & comedians that have zero impact here in the US...

    It needs repeating: The British generally view the American preoccupation with Benny Hill the way Americans view the French preoccupation with Jerry Lewis. We stopped finding Mr.Hill funny a couple of decades ago.

    What the hell is nerdy about Men Behaving Badly, one of your examples? If you think British comedy is all slapstick, you're really in need of a comedy education :)
