    Serenity (2005)

Maybe the difference here is that I saw the movie only. As a non-tv series follower, the film seemed to be about releasing the information. I had no personal, vested interest in any of the characters. Some old preacher dies along with the wisecracking pilot. Obviously it meant something to...

    Serenity (2005)

I believe a mirror scene to the opening recap, a coda if you will, would have made this a much better movie. By failing to show any repercussions to the alliance for its deception, the entire narrative is undercut and the sacrifices of the characters involved become trivialized.

    Serenity (2005)

I thought it was pretty well executed, but it ended very poorly. They build up the fact than no one knows about how the reavers came to be, and the truth MUST get out. In the big climactic scene they release the truth by getting past an encircling space armada, hordes of reavers, and the big...

    Serenity (2005)

It's not suprising to me that there are no plans to revisit this franchise. A sci-fi film series with an overt western theme is a hard sell. Too hard apparantly.

    Serenity (2005)

I'm not saying this to annoy anyone, but the Box Office take is nowhere close to paying off production costs, let alone advertising and print costs. Many people are misinformed about how much the studio takes from theaters. The average split between theaters and owners is 55% studio and 45%...

    Serenity (2005)

I enjoyed the movie for the most part. There are only a few things that should be changed. Spoiler tags because i dont know the policy for this thread. 1. Too many characters. There was no real reason to even have Book and Inara in this film at all, and Wash had only two funny lines...

    Serenity (2005)

Doubtful. We got an excellent movie, but the earnings potential is minimal at best. The series was cancelled because of low ratings, and the movie was financed because Universal wanted a space franchise. Unfortunately, the lackluster performance at the box office has basically killed that...

    Serenity (2005)

Considering that the movie is performing below studio expectations, probably not very much at all.

    Serenity (2005)

That's the theater count. Most theaters still running the film will only have it on one screen now. Too many new openers competing for space,
