TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Ok, I've checked and both The Lost Episodes and the original Ultimate Collection did have The Dentist Sketch. Those sets each list the episode as airing March 3, 1969. I checked the Carol Burnett Show Companion and they also list the sketch as airing on the March 3, 1969 episode. So, the Time...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

I believe that the sketch does appear on the large Lost Episodes set as well as the original large Ultimate Collection set. It looks to me like this is the first time that the episode that the sketch is from is being released. I would have to check my Ultimate Collection set to get the air date...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Actually there are 4 episodes on the disc and all 4 have never been released before. It has been discussed here: https://www.hometheaterforum.com/community/threads/new-carol-burnett-show-dvd-on-the-way.351405/ Beware, the running time on the disc seems to suggest that the episodes might be...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Sorry, I don't know anything more than what is described in the Carol Burnett Show guide. The Barbara Eden duet is not given much more of a description than what I stated. The Scrooge finale from show 414 uses clips from the movie Scrooge. The book doesn't say when the film was released. Yes...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Yes, two of the three episodes are edited. Show 014 and Show 414. Show 014 is missing the Barbara Eden and Carol duet about magic with them performing a few magic tricks and Show 414 is missing the finale featuring clips and songs from Scrooge.

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Yes, the Carol's Lost Christmas DVD is available separately. I got mine for $16.04 (including shipping). You do have to call Time Life to get it, but you can get it.

Sorry. It wasn't easy to hold the book open, read and type at the same time.

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Ok, here is the quote from the new Carol Burnett show companion book regarding the DVD seasons 1-5. From page 242 "In fact, a year after the death of the company's namesake, Bob Banner Associates (Bob Banners heirs and his production company just to clarify things a bit because there is loads...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

In the book The Carol Burnett Show Companion: So Glad We Had This Time, there is some insight as to why the first five years have not been syndicated or released on DVD. I will post the complete quote, but it seems that the Lost Episodes set was released to appease the Bob Banner Estate and stop...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Well, not exactly related to the Lost Episodes set but I just got the book The Carol Burnett Show Companion: So Glad We Had This Time and I made a discovery. On the original Time Life Ultimate Collection there is another edited episode. Show 707 in the One More Time set, disc 17. The Ethel...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Eventually there was a retail release of the original big Time Life set. I think it is still available on Amazon. I assume that the Lost Episodes big set will eventually have a retail release. At the moment the only way to get all of the episodes from the early seasons that have been released...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

At the moment no one has announced any exclusive content for this release. As far as I know, this set contains everything that has already been released in the larger Time-Life set. Costco might release an exclusive version but I am not anticipating new, previously unreleased episodes at this point.

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

You're welcome. Not to be misleading, but my above response was in regards to the retailer exclusive discs/sets and their contents. Not the general release sets (Columbia House, Time-Life). Those I actually bought when they were released. I wait to hear what's on the retailer exclusive...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

90% of my information comes from members here that actually purchase the exclusive DVD sets and report what's on them and I also check the Amazon reviews. There is always someone there reporting what has been released.

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Ok, I'll try and clear things up a bit. Time Life has released two large sets for the series. On their website they have called both of them The Ultimate Collection. That is not exactly true. The first set released was The Ultimate Collection. It contained episodes from the series later years...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

I can answer that. No, neither the Elephant story nor Harvey in briefs have been released on any of the Time Life sets. Sorry. The episode where the Family plays Password (the Elephant story) has not been released to DVD by anyone yet. The episode where Harvey forgot to change to boxers is...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Sorry, I checked the set also and the sketch isn't there. That list I had was sent to me eons ago. The date was wrong. I looked in my Variety Shows book. The date should be September 24, 1977. The first episode of season 11. That episode has not been released. So, that makes 2 sketches that are...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Ok, here is something that I have been working on for quite some time now. Here is an episode list for the syndicated Carol Burnett & Friends episodes indicating what episodes/sketches have not been released on DVD. I have done an extensive amount of rather difficult research to attempt to...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Ummmm..........that has to be an error. The Ultimate Collection of 45 episodes 22 Discs is only available at Time Life. The entire collection has not been released to retail yet. If that happens it probably won't be until next year some time. This set has just been released earlier this month...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

It's possible that those episodes don't exist. I don't have access to a more comprehensive source than the one that I used. I have deleted them from my list so it now reflects 276 episodes. Here is the updated and corrected list for anyone who needs it.

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

I would wait to see what is going to be on the exclusive disc before jumping to any conclusions. If it is just another disc from the bigger set, then you might want to get the bigger set instead. If Time Life follows their pattern from the last time, the final set in the bigger set won't be...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

I have 278 episodes on my list. I was just about to mention the 11/17/73 episode with Steve Lawrence and Tim Conway was also missing. I got my information from the Carol Burnett Fan website. All I got were the air dates and guest stars. From there I added the show numbers from the information...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Hey John, I have been comparing your list to mine and the 2/9/70 (season 3) show with Tim Conway, Steve Lawrence and Kay Medford is missing so it doesn't have a show number or a tape date.

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

That is exactly what I believe. Aside from the obvious music licensing issues, why else would we have only gotten 45 episodes while the previous Ultimate Collection had 50 episodes (for the same price)? Seems to me that there was some complicated legal hassles just to get 45 episodes as opposed...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

If they follow the same pattern as before, this set's Costco bonus disc should be another disc from the main set. It wasn't until the second set (This Time Together) from the original Ultimate Collection that started containing new to Time Life or previously unreleased episodes not found in...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Yes, that is the book I was referring too. It may not be much help with episode numbers, but I'm very hopeful it will help me in finding out what sketches made up the Carol Burnett & Friends episodes. More specifically, when those sketches originally aired in what original episode. Most of them...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

Regarding shows 001 and 002, no unfortunately I don't have any information on them or which shows (based on air dates) that they are. I've tried to do some research on the series to fill in the rest of the show numbers on my list but there is limited information available. I've been having this...

TimeLife announces "The Lost Episodes" of The Carol Burnett Show

I'm not John but I can answer at least one of your questions. The reason episode 1 is listed as 003 is that it was the third episode filmed/produced even thought it was broadcast first. This happens all too often with TV shows. Shows are produced and in the can but the network decides not to...
