I agree. I first saw the movie in the Redux version, on DVD. I liked the Redux version, but I fell in love with the theatrical version. Some of the scenes in the Redux work fine on their own (like the plantation scene) but they don't fit in the movie. Most of the added scenes are just too much...

I think this is another title where the 'panic' is unjustified. I've seen small bits of the Blu-ray, just to see how it looked, and it looked really good. Perhaps a tad soft, but I think that has more to do with how it was shot. I don't know if the folks at AVS are crying foul over this release...
