Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I don't think there will ever be another EVENT movie like a Star Wars film. If you look at box office trends, less and less people are going to the movies these days to begin with and the lack of a sure-fire success like Star Wars just makes things worse. I'm not saying this is the end of big...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Brett, I know what you mean. I'm not objective when it comes to SW either, but I think even those who ARE objective can honestly say Episode III got screwed by those asshats at the academy. I haven't seen Narnia, but I know people who have and they said the effects weren't that...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Chuck, Lighten up. I meant for that remark to be taken comically more than mean-spirited. I haven't seen Brokeback Mountain nor do I care to, but I know for certain that "enlightened" Hollywood is much more interested in heaping praise on a movie with that type of subject matter than it ever...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

The more I think about how Episode III got snubbed this year the more it just pisses me off! It's an absolute joke that the film was not nominated for VFX, costumes, sound effects or score and it just reminds me why I hate the Oscars and the AMPAS so much. Maybe if Lucas had thrown in a scene...

Glad to see you took my advice and picked up an SVS sub, Tim. The house will certainly be rockin' now! :emoji_thumbsup:

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Just read that ROTS got snubbed in the VFX, costume and sound categories and I am utterly shocked. I guess I really shouldn't be since the Academy seems to love giving Lucas the shaft. I guess they still can't get over his independent, anti-Hollywood stance and figure that this is their way of...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I haven't seen a movie 4 times in a theater since the original either, but I've already seen Sith 3 times and will probably see it 1 or 2 more times.

OK, I don't know this has been posted here yet, but if not everyone has to go and check this out: http://sithsense.com/flash.htm This thing is freakin' cool. :emoji_thumbsup:

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

It will probably have some competition next weekend from Cinderella Man, but then again I don't know if that will really be a "blockbuster" type of film. It does bode well that Sith is doing better than both Madagascar and The Longest Yard......the masses are really digging this film...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

The thing that has always bothered me a little is that Vader's lightsaber skills are pretty weak in ANH, but then they are improved by about 1000% in ESB as he dominates Luke for that entire fight. By the time ROTJ rolls around, though, he's back to looking as weak as he did in ANH. Can anyone...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Just got back from my second viewing of Episode III and I think I enjoyed it even more this time around. It had me just as riveted as I was when I saw it last week and that doesn't ususally happen on my second viewing of a film. I think that over time I'll probably watch this one just as much as...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Matt, I love that commercial. I think the creepy BK guy is hillarious and the fact that they're having a breathing contest just slays me. By the way, not sure if it's been posted here yet or not, but Box Office Mojo has the 4 day haul at $158.5 million. I think the highest previous 4...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

WOW, a $50 million day! I wonder what the 4 day total(Thursday-Sunday) will end up being. It should probably do $140-150 million at that pace which would be one helluva an opening weekend. :emoji_thumbsup:

Chuck, Now that you mention it, that would've been completely AWESOME! Damn, now every time I watch Jedi I'll be thinking of Kashyyk and how much better the movie could have been with the final battle there instead of Endor.

Kevin, I was wondering about the Qui Gon ghost scene as well. I'm guessing it will be a deleted scene on the DVD along with Yoda arriving on Dagobah. I really wish those would've made the cut for the film, but I guess there wasn't time to include them. :frowning:

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Yeah, I guess you were expecting too much Peter. Personally, I like it when people use good grammar and their posts are free of sentences like "why does Lucas have to suck so much wang", but I guess that's expecting too much.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I loved the entire exchange between Anakin and Obi-Wan. I thought it was executed perfectly. If only the Anakin/Padme scenes early in the film would've be done that well or as well as their parting scene on Mustafar.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Yoda as annoying as Jar Jar? That may be the most ridiculous thing I've heard all..........well, ever. Jar Jar set the all-time standard for annoying characters in Star Wars films(or any films for that matter) and to compare my "little green friend" with him is ludicrous. Yoda kiced ass in this...
