If you didn't say who it was I'd never guess Ozzie! Harriet is almost obvious (sounds just like I'd expect her to sound singing that is and could possibly tell you it was her if I'd seen an episode or two of the show before hearing it).

Yes. Like most shows of that era there's little to no continuity you have to worry about. Were it not for the boys aging you could watch shows in any order and would likely never notice the difference.

My Ozzie and Harriet collection is pretty much what Gary recommends - That Mill Creek 100 episode set and a couple of the Shout! sets just in case. I just looked 'em up. That MC set must be OOP as it's stupid high - even for used. Right now, secondspin has the most reasonable price on a copy...
