Thank goodness I don't have these issues with 3-D. Although there are those two features shot in dual-strip 3-D with the three color Technicolor rig. Or is it dual-strip 3-D with the three strip rig? Ah, never mind.

You are correct, sir! I got the footage back in 1980 when working on a project for David Wolper and Warner Bros. It was being sold as fill leader. Bob

If you'd like some indication of the severe fade one can encounter with an original 1951 element, here's a frame from one panel of dailies on THIS IS CINERAMA. There's not much color left on that color chart! And let's give credit to John Harvey. Had he not championed the cause of Cinerama...

Me too, I can't wait to hear about it! I had the pleasure of going to the Bradford Widescreen festival in 2005. They showed one reel of GRIMM in the Cineramacana program and it looked great. I've been wanting to go back ever since.

That's okay! Somebody posted an article with the hundreds of corrections to the Widescreen book. I never attempted to do that with the 3-D book, there seemed to be something incorrect on every page! Of course, now that information has been coped and posted on-line, so the myths have become fact...

Be careful, that Carr/Hayes widescreen book is riddled with errors. The only thing worse is his 3-D Movies book. If he didn't have information, he made it up. The amount of wrong information is unbelievable. And it's still in print...

Really? Oh, that's VERY disappointing. Isn't the 70mm missing quite a bit of image information from the two side panels?

As I recall, it was a scene of the brothers writing in their library and there were also shots of the carriage in the forest. I'm sorry, but that's the best I can remember!

I saw a segment in 3 panel Technicolor Cinerama at the Bradford Widescreen Museum about 7 years ago. It looked spectacular on the big screen! Here's some info on the travelogue restorations. http://www.in70mm.com/news/2011/cinerama/index.htm
