So did anyone buy Pete Rose's book? I picked it up the other day and I'm only about 30 pages in; it's a pretty interesting read.

I am really interested in knowing how Rose's players felt about his managerial integrity. Does anyone know of any instances in which a player has come forward and indicated that some of the moves Rose made as a manager were questionable?

It is true that he has been criticized for not retiring sooner, but if you look at his statistics he was still a pretty decent player up until his final season (his average did drop as low as .245 but climbed back to .286 the following season). It is still an obvious drop-off in production, but...

I never actually believed that all of Sosa's bats were corked when he was trying to break Maris' record because otherwise it would have been discovered much sooner. However, as a baseball fan I am far more offended to hear about a player who is closing in on 600 home runs to be caught cheating...

But couldn't that incident destroy over a century of baseball history?

What about corked bats? Does Sosa deserve to be in the Hall of Fame?
