Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I don't like the version with Hayden Christensen. It looks stinky to me. But I think I understand why Lucas did this. You're saying that Luke never had his experience with the younger Anakin. But he also never had experiences with the older one. Actually there were never an older Anakin like he...

And that is the whole point.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I'd wish it will be a super-duper-every-wish-come-true edition. But, I thing if it comes it will be like Kevin predicts. And that would be ok.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I would love to see that Disney would go the whole nine yards for the OOT. But I guess it will be as Kevin predicts. Wich is better than what we have today. Far better.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

My expectations on a presentation higher than 1080p (including even a restoration) regarding the OOT are not very high, so I'm on a safe side here. ;)

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I didn't see the movie in 1978 (it started late in Germany), because I was too young (9 years). Same goes for my brother (10). The film was rated FSK-12 back then, now it's FSK-6. Only our sister could see it, which she did. So we had only these sticker album and the audio drama on LP for...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

It's OK to say it when you liked the PT. These films are not that bad, but they could have been better. ;)

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Don't your dare :D It is sure a hard time watching the non-anamorphic DVDs. I did it nevertheless two weeks ago, projected even. :o But I like the films that way far better than the Special Editions. By the way, the new film is really, really good. I watched it yesterday (in English) and...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Although I dislike most of the changes, I can live with most of them. Except for one change in each film, which is: - Ep.IV = the Han/Greedo scene - Ep.V = the conversation between Vader and the emperor. I find the original stronger. - Ep.VI = the switch of actors (Christensen/Shaw) Wait...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

As far as I understand the filmmakers of the new one ignore more or less the PT. So you can watch the DVD's with the unaltered version and ride on to the new one. :)

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

That is correct, that's why I put "died" in "". ;) But, and that's probably the reason for the change, Anakin never appeared as he did in the original version (in the Jedi's robe). On the other hand: If a Jedi, who is going to the "afterlife" (or whatever they call it), appears in the form...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Some changes were ok, some look decent, some not. Over all I must say, none of the changes were necessary. Because Obi-Wan died as the older man, Anakin "died" as the young man. So I can understand this change - also I don't like it either. ;) It was in Star Trek VI. And the effect was far...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I can tolerate the changed version so far if I watched them together with the PT. But only then. I watch the OT far more often than the PT, and without the PT the changes in the OT doesn't work (for me).

The perfect edition with different versions of a film is the BLADE RUNNER-set from 2008. Although Ridley Scott prefers his version (Final Cut), 'cause he knows many fans prefer one of the earlier versions, they (he and Warner's) put together this set. I wish Lucas has had and Disney will have...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

We (my brother and I) had the radio play on tape. Our cousin had it on LP. He transferred it for us from LP to cassette. Until the second film came out, we had just this tape and an album with decals for collecting. That was the only visual reference that was available to us back then. Those...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Accually, if STAR WARS unaltered would be released on UHD, I would buy it, even if that means this will be the only UHD in my collection, because I'm not that interested in this new format. SW unaltered is THAT important to me!

They probably didn't announced it at this convention not to undermine the teaser of Episode VII. I would have handled it so.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

So what? Wheather Lucas had the twin thing in mind or not, they (Luke & Leia) didn't know they where siblings, so from my point of view it's understandable that he fancies her and she kissed him (only to show Han how foolish he was though ;)). I don't see anything bad in that - but maybe it's...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I like the PT to some degree and I watch them usually with the SE versions of the OT as a whole - and only there the SE's work just fine. But I like to watch the OT without the PT. And then the SE's does not work - at all! I understand Koroush's piont - and to look at it from an objective...

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I still have a tube TV-set, ca. 30", 16:9. Even on that the "Laserdisc-redux DVDs" look not so good. It's watchable, but only because I love the films (in that versions) so much. Onother point, I hope (an do believe) the OOT will also be released in Germany with the original dub. Because I...

That would be good enough for me, but not in the form they were released on DVD. Off Topic My personal favorite is North by Northwest, but on an objective view I would consider Psycho as his best. But Vertigo is close, very close. ;)

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

Well, I've seen the first movie when the second was going to be hit the screens, late 1980 in Germany. I've seen it again, when the third was released three years later. Unfortunatly, I don't recall if the scroll had the Episode IV tag in 1980. I'm pretty sure, it was there in 1983. Because I...

Oh, I would love to see the unaltered versions on Blu. I never had the Laserdiscs (only the Special Edition  ), but the non-anamorphic DVDs. I can't watch them projected. Ouch, you're so right. :D
