    Following all this, I'm now on the hunt for a good Region 1 DVD of 'Liberty Valance'. There's plenty of Region 4 discs on sale here in Australia, but for obvious reasons I never buy Australian or UK DVDs.

    I checked and my Australian blu ray is dated on the disc 2013. Robert, is that a 'tolerable' version, or worse? I imagine from the date that it might be the first Blu transfer.

    I love this forum. We can disagree violently over something like film grain, and still get along splendidly .. most of the time. Anyway, let's strip grain and colourise everything and then we'll have nothing to debate.
