You'd think that technical wizardry would allow this to be resolved in a way which doesn't result in Warners porting over frankly unviewable SD extras, forcing us all to retain our DVDs, if we're lucky enough to have them. So much great material ruined by slavish adherence to blu ray specs!

I never knew that. How incredible. It's as if someone said 'go out and find an inferior source'. I hope one day this is remedied .. maybe if an entire Blu ray was given us of outstanding short features.

Which would be why the wonderful bonus short feature 'The Gay Parisian' on the 'The Maltese Falcon' blu ray is sadly virtually unwatchable.

I bought the soundtrack LP as a surprise christmas present for my wife back in the early 1970s when it was still a rarity to be able to hear it, let alone see it. From memory, It was a Karousel label from Germany. Sounded great; we loved it then and still do.
