The problem with Portman is she made a STRONG entrance in Leon, and then never followed it up with anything equally strong IMO.

Someone needs to calm down just a little bit. I read Ron's post (and agree with him). I have made very few posts on this thread because of the rampant fanaticism. I don't think my post was a complaint-merely discussion. It's possible that every post comes off as a complaint due to the...

It's findings like these that make me think more and more that the change in the film was not intentional. I can't think of one good reason to make this change. It's not like the ship sound effects were drowned out before the change.

So where does that leave all those poor folks who bought the gold P&S version? No delineation for them apparently! Personally I have a feeling Episodes 1 and 2 will be packaged with Episode 3 in a prequel box set, and the widescreen will all be silver. Interesting side note-I had to stop...

OK, just checked out my rip of the OOT LD, and the flashes are there, but they don't look as green. Were these possibly flashes that actually occurred on set? ANH was the only one where they used reflective tape or something like that on the lightsaber poles (per the documentary.

I noticed this too. Very strange.

I felt like Jedi was my favorite for a long time as well, as I was so excited to see it for the first time when I was 9. All I could think about was getting the new Biker Scout action figure! I know this is blasphemy, but I'd probably rank ROTJ right below ESB, with ANH third. I just found...

I knew about all the audio glitches and transfer issues going in, and while I was aware of them, it honestly did not decrease my enjoyment of the films. The transfers could use a slight contrast bump, but if an exchange program is not offered, I think I'll be able to live with these discs.

I mentioned this a few pages back but I think it got lost in the shuffle. I liked this change as well. I'll mention again, in ANH, there is a line of dialogue from one of the stormtroopers searching the Falcon that was not there before. Right before they exit the Falcon down the ramp, one...

It's the same size as the Indy set. It fits four standard keep cases. The main difference would be that the Indy set was open on one side to show the keep case spines. The Star Wars box has a second box (the silver part) that slips overs the box holding the four keep cases.

OK, just got done watching all 3 films. First, there were two changes I noticed that have not been mentioned yet: First, in A New Hope, when the two Stormtroopers are searching the Falcon on the Death Star, when they meet up at the ramp before they exit, one now says "there's nobody here"...

Woohoo! The local shop that I go to just called and said my set is ready for pickup. It's taking every ounce of will I have to stay at work for the next 1.5 hours. It's going to be a LONG evening.

Well, considering Lucas is over 60, I don't think he'd want to devote another decade to Star Wars. I really he think he's done with SW after RotS, at least in an active capacity. Personally I'm looking forward to more non-SW stuff from him.

They opened a Fry's here in the west burbs of Chicago recently. Sometimes they have good deals, but I find them to be consistently understocked on products that are advertised at a good price. The local Fry's ad godd for today until 9/21 does not mention Star Wars at all. Perhaps they'll run...

I prefer the SE's. I grew up with the originals. I'd love to have the originals on DVD as well. Just wanted to get those three statements out of the way. Some of the changes were unnecessary and do diminish the films. But a lot of the changes are good. I love the Battle of Yavin now. It...

I'm hoping to get my hands on these by this weekend. I'm planning on watching everything in one day. I will likely watch Empire of Dreams first in its entirety, so it can whet my appetite even more and it will also give my RPTV a chance to warm up enough so when I start ANH it will look...

Dave, I'm a Virgo (b-day is Tuesday), and even I think Neil's list is beyond the level of scrutiny I'd want to give. I admire his attention to detail, but I'd be quite disappointed if I personally was no longer able to watch the films without hearing all the changes instead of being able...
