    So for Spider-Man 2 if the 4k digital files were the source for both the film and the DVD, then we aren't really talking about "tranfer" quality then, are we? We are just talking about "filtering, downres, and compression" quality, although that is a mouthful.

I thought that transfer just meant going from one format to another, whether it be film to whatever HD master they use, or film to 480 MPEG-2, even if the HD master was an intermediate step.     That really echos how I feel. I'll only be purchasing Spiderman 2 one time on standard definition DVD. If Columbia and other studios want to pull this crap, it is too bad because it just makes me see less in theaters and puchase less on DVD due to irritation towards the studios that it causes...
