I'm not even a Country fan and I thought the Clark Brothers were -- make that *are* great. (Sixwire didn't do a lot for me, but only because I'm not into that genre -- they're an excellent band.)

As long as we're lamenting lost music competition shows, let's have a moment of silence for the best of them all: The Next Great American Band. As with so many other classic yet short-lived shows, buried in a crappy time slot and utterly unpromoted by Fox. :(

When I heard that I'd missed freaking *Judas Priest* performing on American Idol, I considered killing myself.

The problem with this season is that the interesting talent tended to get overshadowed by the meh talent. I'm sure I'll watch it again. It's just a matter of if and when during the season I lose interest.

Steven Tyler isn't filling the Randy slot. He's filling the Paula slot. (Wait, that doesn't sound quite right.) At any rate, I'm also glad the Kara slot got nuked. Did y'all know that she's co-hosting a new singing competition show on Bravo? Oy vey. I might actually watch it, though...

To be fair to Scotty, the kid is only 17 and is choosing songs from a limited selection. Who knows what he might do in the future? Cf. the infamous battles between Kelly Clarkson and Clive Davis over her sound.

Yep. It's a real shame that the singers this season, who, let's face it, are at or near the top of the Idol heap talent-wise, have been saddled with what has for the most part been an incredibly boring selection of music.

Dude, she's been doing that for 20 years! Haley's vox on HotRS were good, but her performance was so wacky I couldn't pay attention to her singing. I also didn't get the problem with her doing an "unreleased" song. Most of the songs this season just run together in generic-sounding oblivion...
