    I agree that it's ludicrous to compared Gimli to Jar Jar. Jar Jar was pure buffoon, thoroughly incompetent, witless, and one dimensional. The comic relief aspect of Gimli was overplayed, but he's still a highly valued member of the Fellowship, and a KICK ASS warrior who kills dozens of orcs...

    I loved the reappearance of Gandalf before three of the Fellowship. Played with spot on perfect emotion (applause broke out in the audience I was with). I marvelled at how Peter Jackson could bring that moment to life so perfectly from the book. Wonderful, wonderful stuff.
