I note that the Harmony Control app on my iPhone and iPad was updated yesterday. Enhanced SSO support and Bug Fixes. No big deal, and I don't use the App as I prefer the actual remote, but good that they are still pushing out updates.
Good info. I assumed incorrectly that the remotes were physically different or perhaps ran different firmware based on how the hub and remote communicate and sync back and forth.
It is indeed, and if I could have found and bought another new 950 to back up the one I have, that is what I would have done.
One small bit of functionality that I can use is that the hub can control my FireStick which the 950 can not. It is not $350 worth of added functionality, but I do...
Not really needed in my room. The gear is right in front of us, so aiming of the remote is a total non-issue. I also want to minimize my reliance on the Hub. I don't think the option exists to use the IR in the remote along with the Hub. If the Hub goes Toes Up, I lose all control.
I was looking forward to having it see my Nest thermostats and Wemo lights and switches, but neither are supported. I do have fine native apps on my phone for those things, but I was at least going to give it a shot.
Looks like a few members here are taking a defensive posture and going with Elite systems from IR only Harmony remotes. I just did the same. I was not planning to use the hub, but since I have a Fire Stick in my set-up, and the hub does BluTooth, I thought, why not?

Last year, I bought a 950 to replace a One that while still fully functional, was looking a bit long in the tooth. I have used One's for years, along with a few lesser Harmony remotes and was worried that the 950 would not measure up, but truth be told, it has been fine.
I actually have two...
