The Premier Access paywall on Cruella has dropped. It is now included with the regular subscription cost on Disney+. I have decided it is not for me. But anyone who is interested can now watch it without the surcharge.
They also now have extras which are presumably from the upcoming Blu-ray...
I know that. My previous post was poorly worded. While Disney would of course be happy if theater owners wanted to keep showing Cruella, their priority now is to book their newer releases on as many screens as theater owners will let them have. Cruella has essentially run its course...
Cruella drops down into the regular Disney+ catalog (without the extra fee) on August 27. So if you have Disney+, you'll have the movie included and available to you in not too much longer. This date was announced when Premier Access preorders became available.
Black Widow and Jungle Cruise...
Remember, though, that $26 million in four days is not the complete financial picture for Cruella. This is another one of those Premier Access situations where you can buy the film for $30 via Disney+. So they also have that separate revenue stream coming in, they get to keep 100% of that...
No.
She is neither the Cruella of 1961 nor the Cruella of 1996 and 2000, which is part of why I'm not interested in this film.
If Disney wants to make a variant of The Devil Wears Prada, they can. Technically, they even own The Devil Wears Prada now. But crisscrossing that with a...
I'm guessing that they made it because 101 Dalmatians turn came up on the Disney remake assembly line, but they had already done that with Glenn Close twice before. So they probably felt like they needed to do something different to capitalize on the IP.
Personally, I'm not interested in a...
The Disney+ order page for Cruella now indicates that it will drop the Premier Access fee on August 27. So if you want to see it at home without paying extra, that's when you can do so.
Nothing in any of the promos for this film has looked remotely appealing to me, and I don't really care...
I'm going to spoilerize this comment in case anyone doesn't want to look at the above clip, but I'm only discussing what is in the above, so if you watch it you can reveal the spoiler and there's nothing additional spoiled.
I'm not really big on the idea introduced in this clip that
Nice thought, but this has been in development since before Joker was released. This thread was started in August 2019 with a cast photo, which means it was already in the process of being made at that time. I'm sure Disney had this in the planning stages for a while before it was formally...
A new trailer and another new poster image from Disney social media:
That trailer isn't doing anything for me.
I think I will wait to watch this one once it becomes included in the Disney+ subscription price later in the year. I don't mind paying $30 for Black Widow in July because I...
I'll probably stream this once it is included with Disney+ out of curiosity. But I'm not excited or anything.
What would make me excited is if Disney uses this cross-promotional opportunity to release Blu-rays of the Glenn Close Dalmatians films. Both of them are on Disney+ but have never had...
That's a good point. 5/28/21 was the expected theatrical release date for this prior to the pandemic and it has not been moved since. Deadline reported a while back that Disney might move it, as well as the upcoming Pinocchio and Peter Pan remakes, to Disney+. However, during the investor...
Trailer:
Disney must be feeling awfully confident in the release date to put it specifically at the end of the trailer rather than just saying "Coming Soon."
I read that it's going to take place in the '70s, but I've not heard that it will be connected to the 1996 version. I don't think that will be the case. They're not going to ask Emma Stone to play a young version of Glenn Close. I think it will just be a Cruella de Vil movie that is set in...
I don't know about this.
Emma Stone is great but that picture just looks weird.
If Horace, Jasper and dalmatians are in this, then what makes it a new Cruella story instead of just another remake of 101 Dalmatians? They already did that in live-action twice, before it was a trend.
