    Well... That's different! :D Well, my Bose bookshelf's are really sensitive to they're location. But, that's probably just because they're older, and they changed the design a bit.

    It's true... If they were in the same chamber, the woofer would interfere with the mid-bass and cause it to distort.

    Well, all floor-standing speakers (unless the designer was stupid) have the mid-bass and woofer separated; in different chambers.

    Well, I really don't see a point in having 8 subwoofers, unless your speakers had a really high Fs... I'll probably only get 3 subwoofers, 2 for the front, 1 for the rear. 7.3 is more than enough bass.

    Well, they're gona have to get used to it. There's always going to be someone like me on the forum, that knows less than everyone else. They should take into account that they came to a PUBLIC message board. People all over the world come here with different backgrounds, heritage, income, age...

    Sure. I happen to listen to bass-heavy music. And, sometimes just the sub doesn't cut it when listening at higher volumes (I have my speakers on pretty loud when watching movies/listening to music). And, bookshelf's aren't the best at reproducing the lower tones. So, I use floor-standing...

    I prefer large floor standing speakers over bookshelf's for the fronts with a sub, and bookshelf's for the rear and sides.
