I didn't watch the bonus disc either. It is cool to have the crossover preserved, but I'm hoping to be able to duplicate the experience with Simon and Magnum box sets.
I'm surprised I didn't like the episode better, since it had the always-reliable Lance LeGault. It wasn't horrible, I just didn't like the element I mentioned above. Plus, I was pretty tired when I watched it, and that often colors my judgment.
I liked that episode, but Missing in Action wasn't my favorite. What was with all that premonition crap? Strangely, I watched that right after I watched "The Psychic," an episode of Starsky and Hutch.
Has anyone noticed any synching issues with this set? It seemed really noticeable to me in China Doll and now Missing In Action. An example in the latter is the scene in Rick's office right after the girl faints. The audio seems off for every character. I'm wondering if this is a glitch...
A lot of those abrupt cuts are at the commercial breaks, and I believe they were done for stylistic effect. Something big happens, and you suddenly cut to an ad.
Just watched Never Again, Never Again last night. Wow! What an incredible episode! You know, I never really watched this show before. I've wanted to for a long time, being a fan of other Bellisario properties such as Quantum Leap and Airwolf. I was hoping for it to hit DVD for a long time...
Well, I do it with Stargate. I just go nuts watching that show. Part of what helps me go slower through other sets is the fact that I have several going at the same time. I'll watch Magnum one night, then Starsky, then maybe Andromeda. I watch Stargate at least once every night, though. :)...
It may be an insult to ask this, but are you, Aryn, male or female? I've not encountered the name before, and honestly don't know. I assumed female for some reason--maybe because it's similar to Arwen. How is it pronounced? Like Aaron?
I like to select each episode individually as well, but this is a special case. I'm glad to be able to watch the episode as it originally aired. I'm not sure why they didn't just include it as one episode, but I guess this satisfies those who want the syndication version as well (though, I...
In case you didn't read Gord's review, don't forget to use the Play All function to watch the first two episodes as one episode, as it originally aired.
I don't know if you have a Circuit City near you, but they've been $9 cheaper than Best Buy on these Universal sets. Check here for a thread called Weekly Roundup (probably will be posted on Sunday) before picking a store: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...=69&daysprune=
There's some interesting Magnum news up at TVShows right now. A bonus disc will be included with the set that will include four extra episodes. Included will be the entire Magnum/Simon & Simon crossover as it originally aired. That is, the full, unaltered Magnum episode, followed by the Simon &...
TVShows has a better image of the cover art up. I'd link, but I don't think they like that. You can see it here: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem...D=1669&Nav=Yes
 "Oh, you SEXY man!"
Not to split hairs, but it was kind of announced a couple of years ago in that infamous Universal TV on DVD article in Video Business. Fortunately, it's not so infamous any more, as almost everything on the list has been officially announced. Still waiting for Emergency!, which is my big show...
