"The UFO Incident", "Alien Abduction: Answers", and "Bleeding Audio" are all must-buy items for me on June 21st. Nice day! I'm sure I'll be picking up some June sale titles also along with those 3 films (my 2nd March sale haul is currently awaiting shipping).
It's a really great movie. I've had the DVD for many years. Since I only have one player capable of region B/2, I generally like to save those for films that may never come out in the US (foreign films, Hellzapoppin', Electric Dreams, old Ginger Rogers movies, etc) or blu-rays that have region...
Looking at the cover I thought this was maybe from the 1970s? But the words "alien abduction" and "UFO" caught my eye. Just looked this up on Letterboxd and IMDB and saw it was a brand new film.... one says 2021 and the other says 2022. Trailer looks very interesting. Plus Emmanuelle...
Regarding "Greedy", I never bought the current blu-ray because the reviews I've read all say the transfer looks horrible. Would LOVE to see Kino release this and give it a proper treatment.
I bought a Region 2 / B player off of Amazon.uk so that I could watch those movies here in the US. It was cheaper and less risky than going the "All Region" route. You could pick up a Region 1 / A player from Amazon.com and do the same to play Kino titles. Lucky for you, the exchange rate also...
I bought a region free player early last week. I was ready to go crazy picking up some blu-rays never available in Region A, picking up good region B prints where I didn't buy the region A because the print was bad, looking for some films never released here on DVD, etc........ and I've been...
I saw everybody name dropping Smile in this thread, and I was going to mention that it was up for pre-order. You beat me to it. I ordered mine the first day the link was added. Didn't want to miss out. Thanks!
No doubt that the numbers would be down overall..... but had Black Widow, Wonder Woman 1984, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Spider-man: No Way Home, Minions: The Rise of Gru, No Time To Die, Top Gun: Maverick, The Matrix 4, Morbius, etc etc come out in May through July like they were supposed to, that...
To me, the pre-pandemic was like the golden age for used media. People were selling off their CD collections, selling off their DVDs, and I was reaping the benefits. I live near Pittsburgh and we have 11 locations for The Exchange, and 3 Half Price Books stores, not to mention a local place...
After about 10 years without a VCR, I found one in brand new condition at a local Goodwill for $4. I figured why not pick it up!? I managed a video store in the early 90s and I stockpiled some VHS tapes as we cleaned out the VHS catalog to make space for DVD. Our chain was selling them for...
Thanks to Letterboxd I can tell you that I own over 800 movies on blu-ray, over 1900 movies on DVD, and probably another 600 TV shows on a mixture of both..... but I have yet to purchase any movies in 4K. I did buy a 4K player about a year and a half ago, for fear that they may dry up and not...
A small part of that though, I would say came from the fact that no new movies hit the theaters. If there were no summer blockbusters in theaters to hit the store shelves on DVD/blu-ray/UHD four months later, then obviously that's going to put a dent in the numbers compared to years past. As...
I ordered it. I'll let you all know when I find out. I have a region B player but I also don't like the restriction to play movies on only that one device.
This kind of reminds me of "Remember Last Night?", except that one is a comedy house crime mystery with several big name stars. So funny and wild. Directed by James Whale. Would love to see that get an official release from Kino, as it's a Universal film as well. Fingers crossed!
Pootie Tang has a huge cult following. When it came out I was managing a video store..... we only had 2 copies and they were always out. A lot of people are excited for this release. Day 1 for me.
There were a few sites that reported a late May release date, right around the time it debuted on HBOMax:

Apparently I ordered at the exact right time. When I added Bob Le Flambeur and Quai Des Orfevres to my cart they both went temporarily out of stock after my order was placed. I guess a prime example of not to wait, as others have mentioned.
I will say I own this on VHS and DVD, and will certainly upgrade to blu-ray. It was an ABC Monday Night Movies back in the 1990s while I was still in high school and doing my homework while watching TV. It was one of those movies I never knew about but loved just by being in the right place at...
Kino responded to this question about bonus features on Facebook, and said the Eddie Muller commentary and a theatrical trailer were the special features.
