Of the three samuel goldwyn titles I mentioned the westerner another william wyler directed title had a serious restoration done to it on the last dvd release which was a night and day differance to the previous dvd. That would be my pick for a potential future bluy ray release.

Giligan's island wasnt released by paramoumt. It states turner home entertainment on the dvds and i dont think they have released any shows on blu ray that i know of.

There was a very noticabe improvment with Hogan's heroes on blu ray compsred to the dvd's.

I think that aspect is what classicflix was doing for it. They are no.wac or criterion but they seem to do quality work for their releases.

No it sounds like a 4k bu ray combo and also a blu ray only and dvd only. 3 seperate releases. The 4k blu ray combo should be more expensive. Deep discount has combo up for preorder for 31 dollars.

So with todays classicfix announcment it looks like it had a 4k scan done on it with what the library of congress had done on it. I dont know nothing about film restoration. So if the LOC restored the OCN, is their restoration still.the OCN or is it one generation past the OCN?

Mine shipped on tuesday directly from flicker alley after i cancelled orders from amazon and deepdiscount that still have its release as sept 1st. I had to pay 3 dollars for shipping but getting it tax free so it all equals out.

At the time i made that post amazon had raised the price from 29.99 up to 37.50, which is close in price to the 4k i just preordered of arrow's limited deluxe 4k of witness. They have now dropped rio bravo back down to 29.99. This is still too much for pretty much a bare bones 4k disc. I...

Amazon now has this at 37.50 after release instead of going down in price like maltice falcon and cool hand luke to 20 dollars. I will stick with my blu ray. I have no interest at all in getting the 4k at this point.
