A The Time to Kill / Pelican Brief / the Client (Blu-ray Triple Feature) Preorder

Because studio accountants - previously known as studio bosses - only want to cater to the under twenty, attention deficient demographic. Which means any film with what we would call a "plot" is cast aside for more idiotic fare that has explosions every twenty seconds.

    A pox on EA Gaming

I hate micro transactions. It's not just EA that's guilty of micro transactions, they're just the most flagrant offenders. One of the biggest reasons for the increased use of micro transactions is piracy. It's just another way for publishers to make some money out of a title by releasing a game...

    Goodbye Wii

I still have my Wii and play it intermittently and there were some really good games on it, but on the whole, the moving around arms flailing gimmick nature of the console meant I didn't play it as much as my PS3 or PC. I have not bothered to move over to a Wii U. Spent that money on a PS4.

    Retro Game Storage Ideas

Can you post some pictures of these storage drawers to see what they're like please? Not having a "Best Buy" stores here in Australia, I'd love to get an idea of what they're like and see what's available here.

    The Last of Us

For mine, The Last Of Us was a classic Naughty Dog experience. Story came first and the game play complemented it perfectly. The opening level left me speechless at it's conclusion and the rest of the game had me gripped. I'm seriously considering buying the PS4 remastered version.

    Can a PS3 play PS2 games?

Yes and no. As Leo said, most "PS2 Classics" that are put up for sale on the Playstation Store are compatible with the PS3 as they are basically emulated to run on the newer PS3's, but they will not run PS2 games off a disc. There was however the very early 60GB PS3 which did have backwards...

Playing Games via Sony Playstation Network, is it safe? Are hackers still attacking it?

I think the perspective that because a service is "free" means it's security is more lax is a misnomer. Yes, Playstation Network had a large scale database hacking occur in the April of 2011, but that could have easily been any company, including Microsoft. Account hacking has happened on...

Blu-ray Review The Train Blu-ray Review

I love John Frankenheimer films. Birdman Of Alcatraz being my favourite, so it's great to see this released on blu-ray. I've ordered my copy to import based off this review.

    International AMAZON AUSTRALIA

Sadly it's true that retailers here in Australia are scaling back their facings of BD/DVD stock and are redirecting shelf space into products that make them better margins. JB Hi-fi - currently - are about the only retailer that carries good range of films and TV shows now, but how long will...

    Neighbors Review

I thoroughly agree. To me it was very run of the mill and was a great example of lazy film making. Comedy is probably the hardest genre to create genuine laughs from a sharp script. This didn't feel scripted at all, it felt like they just turned the cameras on and ad-libbed, which is vastly...

Interstellar (Christopher Nolan / Jonathan Nolan)

Good old Michael Caine, he is certainly amusing. I remember an interview he did once and they asked him why he was in Jaws: The Revenge and he said in his own typical way, "well I opened the script and it said fade in the Caribbean, so i thought, I need a good holiday" which I thought was a...

    RIP: Maximilian Schell

Sad news indeed. I had seen him in several films Black Hole, Ryan's Daughter, Deep Impact, etc. I'm embarrassed to say I hadn't seen him in his Oscar winning role in Judgement & Nuremberg. I recently received the bluray of the film I ordered after his death and watched it, he thoroughly deserved...

    MGM To Reboot Stargate

Meh. I enjoyed the original film, but didn't love it, I disliked the series. I know MGM as a studio are in financial trouble and making something like this has the potential for them to make some quick money, but it will be fleeting in the long run. Meanwhile MGM let film history die. I won't be...

Interview Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit - The Covert Espionage Experience

I saw this during it's theatrical release and my thoughts were that they've dumbed down the series a bit in comparison with the original three films to cater to attention deficient younger generation, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Jack Ryan has always been one of my favourite characters and it...

    Watch Dogs

You wouldn't want to live in Australia then. The average RRP price for a new release game starts at around $99 for a PS4/XBONE game and $79 for a PS3/360 game currently. Early in the PS3/360 life cycle, $119 wasn't unheard of for a new game. Of course some retailers do discount at launch for a...

    Retron 5

I pre-ordered mine through Amazon back in September last year, I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever ship as it has been listed as "We need more time to give you an estimated delivery date". I have a lot of Super Nintendo and Mega Drive cartridges still kicking around from my childhood, so I'm...
