Yes power led comes on, all fuses checked none were blown, receiver speakers are set to normal, no small setting. Sub is yes on receiver, volume is set fine as is crossover level. The sub would put out a very weak sound, so I opened up the box and removed the sub. I then took my left front...
I need to try and save this unit because I want to put it in the garage and buy a new package for the home theater. I dont want to put a lot of cash into the unit that is going to be in the garage, so it sounds like the best option is just to make the sub passive and move on. Anyone want to give...
Schan that six prong plug in my second picture is the other end of the speaker wire that goes from the driver terminals to what I believe is the amp portion of the motherboard. There are two orange wires that run to the pos terminal and a single grey to the neg terminal of the driver. Those...
Edwin when you say old power cable, do you mean the cord that plugs into the wall outlet that supplies power to the powered sub? I would think all I should have to do is take the rca cable from the reciever that plugs into my sub box and splice the end of that and attach it to the sub terminals...
Ok, if they load right the first pic is the single cable that connects my sub box to my reciever. the second pic is the wires that connect my sub to the amp that is fried. the third pic is the back of my sub box.
so i take the power cord that plugs the unit into the wall and attach that to the sub terminals? The end without the plug is soldered into the motherboard, do I cut that and splice it?
Edwin, yes i took the positve and neg wires from my left front speaker and hooked those up to my sub. the sub worked fine just no hard bass due to not enough juice. The sub is a powered sub so the amp is connected to the sub, but with the amp being dead how do I get my sub speaker working again...
Ok this is what i did, i just took my front Left wires and put them onto my sub and the sub worked better then it did with the powered amp so i guess the amp is fried does that sound right?
Not sure i understand, you want me to hook another speakers wire, ie my left front, to the orange and grey from the amp to see if it powers my left front....?
I will have to change the hook up for one of the other speakers. The sub is a three prong plug in that goes to the amp im guessing then the other end clips onto the sub speaker, where as the other speakers the wires just clip in, one positive one negitive on the back of the speaker
.
I dont have another reciever to hook the sub up to. The reciever seems to work fine with the other speakers it powers( two side, one center, and two surround). when I set the reciever to put out just to the sub, the sub speaker will produce some muffled bass sound and move some air but thats it...
Try another driver.....sorry i am not sure what you mean. I am a novice at best but very DYI so if there is a way to fix it I want to try. Thanks for any help you can pass my way.
I have a kenwood powered sub, old (SW-32HT), that will turn on but the sound is beyond weak. I took it apart and all the fuses are ok, all connections are good. There are no tears in the speaker material. Thats the extint of my knowledge of home theatre powered subwoofers. Any ideas or options I...
