Also, the Aiwa has 6 input jacks (for 5.1 surround). Are you sure I can't have real 5.1 on it?

The usb minitoslink's output is a headphone jack (which I'm guessing supports 5.1) so I'd need a cable where the output end is 3.5mm and the input end is optical? It has dolby pro logic and dsp surround written on the front.

I live in Toronto (I'll add it now).It only has a/v cables and an optical input (So no?).

Also, how would I connect the usb toslink to the Aiwa?

I'm not sure what sound system it is, the logo is worn off and I bought it 10 years ago. I'll check later if it has HDMI but I highly doubt that it does.
